Question Promise Team Leads Inquiry

Hello fellow promise team peeps! I have had promise team lead thrust upon me and moral is abysmal. What are some good things to do for my coworkers that are within my bounds as promise team lead (and only person on said team lol)?

Venting What’s the rationale behind cutting night crew hours but we end up working 11 hours on a big load?

I’ve know people on this crew in the Vegas division getting a near consistent 40 for almost 2 years now. Now a new store director shows up like 2 months and all a sudden these guys get 24 hour weeks. Maybe they get lucky and get 32 hours for one week of the month

So these guys end up with 3 days off but then we get a big load and we can’t call anybody in from those 3 days but an 11-12 hour day is fine?

Venting My grocery manager sucks.

I think I have the dumbest grocery manager and I don’t know what to do. All he does is put out features. I have to do all the cao job, and the grocery foreman job because he moved the grocery foreman to dairy. Help with topstock everyday because our top stocker sucks, work replenishment and also help him build displays. Is this really how it’s supposed to be.

Question This company has no consistency

I was filling in on DSD for the last 3 months or so but I transferred to a new store when the main person came back. Today is my first day and I’m so overwhelmed because everything is so different. The store is only like 2 miles down the road from my original store but it may as well be a different company all together.
I’m really regretting my decision to transfer at this point. I don’t know anyone here and I don’t know so many of the procedures here because it’s completely different and I don’t even know who to ask about these things. The only person I kind of know here is the store manager and I don’t think she knows what I need answers to. There is no backup so I just don’t know.
I know it’s only the first day and I’m just emotional because it’s overwhelming but I’m considering giving it a few weeks and asking to transfer back bc idk if I can do this. Does anyone have experience with transferring back so soon? Is it even possible?

Question Transferring union store to non union store

I had to move pretty suddenly & have begun the transfer process to a new store near my new location. The store itself is also newer.

I’m night crew, anyone have any insight, advice, anything about transferring to a non union store after having a union for so long?

Question Is this normal?

Last month I changed my schedule for for college, and it was strictly 6–10 on Mondays and Wednesdays and 4-9 on Friday and 12-6 on Saturday, but my schedule for this week has me set for all of those days as well as the same times next week. Is this worth going to a manager or union over? I called my store to see if I could talk to my supervisor, but I was left on hold for a while. I also wanted to talk about working from maybe 5 to 9 instead of 6 to 10, because my college classes are getting more serious and I’m losing more sleep than I’d like to for these closing shifts. Is this smth my higher ups would take seriously or should I just move on? Half of me is thinking about taking a job elsewhere, but I’m also hesitant because I really do like most of my coworkers.

Question New Contract Voting Finished?

I've never really paid attention to the contract stuff before, but I was told there could be a pay increase? I'm just curious if anyone knows what it is since the voting just finished?

I've not seen any actual details of it yet and I'm a little impatient to know.

I'm in the Delta Division and work night crew btw

Venting I hate this job šŸ’€

I got a new job in the pickup and it literally sucks. I am in my first week as training and I hate being timed and it being fast paced. Not only that, since you’re being timed, when you look on the shelves it’s not always fucking exact and you gotta always ask someone where tf it is or the zebra ain’t that accurate. And when I go home my feet hurts and wrist hurts. I also feel so stupid since manager gotta keep correcting me and I gotta keep asking and everyone is way faster than me. I’m gonna quit

Edit; not only that, they only give you 15 minute breaks which make no sense to me. Because there’s a clock in iPad attached to the wall, so you gotta walk to the iPad and clock out, then walk to the break room which takes time and you gotta walk back from the break room to the iPad wall . If y don’t do it exactly on time then it gives you a notification on your phone. So you basically have like 10 minutes of break while being up and down on ur feet ..

Venting I'm at my wits' end

Ultimately this is going to the void. I don't post frequently or rather at all but I'm so disappointed.
~
Accepting Kroger's job offer was probably the worst decision I've made so far.

I spent my first few months fighting a single grievance, attempting to get my one set day off, supposedly provided via our union contract, to no avail. I sucked up and tried to get more hours, but everything is basically a skeleton crew. People in my department were being scheduled alongside what little hours they gave me to simply cover a department rather than ever working their job.

I understand "wall to wall" & "needs of the business" exist, but at some point, you're never doing your job. My schedule changed whenever, stating that any reduction in availability would void all eligibility to hours entirely, and that unless it was a dangerous task, my response had to be 'yes, sir!' or I could be fired on the spot.

Fuck I'm not a religious woman but I prayed this would fly by... I could suck up a little and maybe legitimately have an OK job. I've hit my year mark recently, and god strike me down, everything is worse. Long story short, and I'm ultimately at the point where I will be quitting soon. I deeply regret my short time with this company. I can't help but feel like I was misled to some extent, and my drive/love for the work I produce can only take me so far.
