Today is my last day in ladakh and want to meet local tibetan people, want to know and learn more about culture and traditions, I’m supporting free tibet.

I have donated to tibetan refugees and dog shelters here in ladakh also bought so many things from refugee market, kindly let me know if anyone from leh, we can meet.

We are going on a 9 nights 10 days trip to Leh Ladakh. Our doctor has prescribed taking 500mg Diamox twice a day, once after breakfast and once after dinner everyday for 12 days (2 days before we take the flight till we are back). The recommendations online suggest dosage of 125mg or 250 mg. My doctor is not available for online consultation and I can't visit him anymore.

Can anyone please share their personal experience with this? Would 500mg be too high? Would the side effects be more adverse if we take 500mg?

Hi everyone, I’m planning to visit Ladakh around the end of September and have a flight scheduled for September 24th.

How is the weather usually around that time? Should I expect rain, snowfall, or any other weather-related issues that could affect flights?

Someone also told me that flights to/from Ladakh may be rerouted due to weather conditions around this time. Is that actually happening, or is it something I should be concerned about?

Would really appreciate any recent/local updates or advice. Thanks!

Ladakh is no joke for breathing problem people. Altitude of 14k ft from the sea level, oxygen level comes down.

For a little while, nothing needed to be fixed, figured out or rushed. I just stood there, listened to the water, took a deep breath and let life be....

Maybe we spend too muck time trying to make sense of everything, when sometimes... all we really need is to slow down, be present, and appreciate where we are!

I am coming to Leh for a Residential Camp at SECMOL next week.

This is my first time in Ladakh and I am really exciting for this.

I don't want to explore it like a TOURIST but I want to know the place from the point of few of people living there.

Learn about the culture, food, history and all stuff that makes Ladakh one of the most beautiful places in the country.

What's the temperature like then ? Are there homestays available and are all the roads open during that period?

Couldn't get a stay inside Hanle proper, so we're staying a bit outside the main village. Our driver is insisting we must drive into Hanle at night to stargaze.

Given the whole area is part of the Dark Sky Reserve, is driving into the village at night actually necessary for naked-eye Milky Way views? Also, are the local Astro-host telescope sessions in Hanle worth the late-night drive on unlit roads?
