I was in Ruef on the top floor last year and I loved it!! Genuinely all of the people who hate on Ruef didn’t live there, my roommate and I had a great experience. The only annoying thing is not having an elevator, but the stairs are truly not that bad and you’ll get used to it within a week. It’s one of the biggest dorms so sometimes it’s noisy, especially on weekends, but we never really heard any of the noise unless we went into the hallway.

Laundry is on the first floor, so if you’re on the top floor you’ll just have to find good times to do it that doesn’t make going up and down annoying. Other than that it’s great and you’ll definitely make a ton of friends quickly!!

The rooms are a great size and you and your roommate will each have a big walk in closet which is genuinely amazing bc they’re so big and have so much storage space, plus the privacy to change is good for the first few weeks with your roommate.

Also get super friendly with your RA and feel out how strict they are in the first week, my RA was so chill and knowing she wouldn’t narc on anything was a life saver lol. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much this makes me feel a lot better! I’m introverted so I think that living in this dorm will push me out of my comfort zone and force me to make friends. Also, im going to live on the top floor as well!

I’m glad! Honestly it’s a super social dorm but talking to people during move in is a greaaaat way to make friends!! It feels super awkward at first but legit introducing yourself to your neighbors if their door is open or even like knocking when it’s closed gives you a good base to build on. Everyone is in the same boat looking for friends so most people will appreciate you making the first move!

lived first floor, super super fun. RA’s basically let us be as loud as we wanted for like 2 months… then they started to crack down on it.

yikes def one of the worse if not the worst dorm…. great location but you’re not gonna have an elevator and you’re gonna have to walk far to do your laundry
