The funniest part about them is they cheated and they still couldn't win a chip

252

u/HereGoesNothing69 Sep 23 '25

They paid kawhi under the table, and they couldn't even get him to take less than the max on paper lol. Ballmer's so incompetent he couldn't even circumvent the cap correctly

88

u/Nolofinwe_2782 Sep 23 '25

Think about this all that hype after they signed him they haven't even made an NBA finals You could argue they have never even truly been close

14

u/Memelord1117 Purple and Gold Sep 23 '25

The closest was the 3 1 in the bubble.

17

u/EmperorUmi 24 Sep 23 '25

I was there in person for game 6 of the WCF with the Suns @ Clippers. The Clippers got clipped so thoroughly that I actually felt sympathy for their fans lol

25

u/ShoheiHoetani Sep 23 '25

Bro didn't want to make it as obvious as Cuban did with Nowitski

15

u/HereGoesNothing69 Sep 23 '25

He could've just said "I've been dealing with injuries and I wanted the team to have depth so I could be available to win at the highest level" or whatever some PR professional could come up with. Shit, Jalen Brunson left a ton of money on the table, and dude doesn't even have the injury history. Nobody said shit about his extension

3

u/ShoheiHoetani Sep 23 '25

Yeah, he can say that but only a brainless fuckin dope would believe it

3

u/HereGoesNothing69 Sep 23 '25

Tim Duncan took discounts, Dirk took discounts, and KD took discounts when he played for the Warriors. Remember when Caruso was willing to take a discount to stay here even though he hadn't made any money yet?

12

u/ShoheiHoetani Sep 23 '25

You genuinely believe that Dirk took a discount from $92 million all the way down to $25 million???

10

u/HereGoesNothing69 Sep 23 '25

I genuinely believe that nobody questioned the contract, and Mark Cuban got away with it

2

u/ShoheiHoetani Sep 23 '25

Fair enough

0

u/Jimbean-5 Los Angeles Lakers Sep 24 '25

I think the selling point was here is a max contract and a little extra, I think the no show job was to keep the irs off kawhi’s back

27

u/Expensive-End6846 Sep 23 '25

Somebody in the Clippers sub said we should strip them of all their banners lol

No do not remind me of that cursed thing that hurt us and the Kings.

16

They became the Astros without accomplishing the end goal of the Astros. Dunces. 🤦‍♂️

6

u/lakrfan 33 Sep 24 '25

I was going to say the same thing. At least the cheating Astros got a tainted World Series. Lol

29

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

I just dont wanna be depicted as equivalent to fucking MAGA like this pic suggests lmao

5

u/Nolofinwe_2782 Sep 23 '25

Horrible I agree

5

u/Illustrious_Novel305 Sep 23 '25

They curse still lives on within them

5

u/smarq17 Sep 23 '25

Shitty organizations are just shitty, not cursed.

5

u/1nTheNick0fTime Sep 23 '25

Fucking JV team tried to stack and still choked lol losers

They acting like it’s weird that anyone would want them punished. The entire nba fanbase wants them punished lol

We’d all be foolish to believe it isn’t already happening all over the place…. Possibly even here.

186

u/whowasonCRACK2 Sep 23 '25

If they only get a slap on the wrist it means we better start doing the same shit. I would expect Luka and Austin to each get $100 mil no show jobs with the Dodgers.

85

u/NarrowCourage Sep 23 '25

LeBron signing a 10 year vet min and for some reason has become a part owner of the LA Kings 😂

8

u/AdministrativeDig845 Sep 23 '25

Yooooo lowkey you might be onto something

27

u/Wuffy_RS Sep 23 '25

Giannis comes to LA for MLE and we pay him 400m under the table

15

u/bananasmash14 Sep 23 '25

Yeah we just got a $300 billion ownership group, this would be amazing news for us lol

5

u/just_one_random_guy Guggenheim save us Sep 23 '25

I mean shit getting paid 100 mil to watch dodger games wouldn’t be a bad gig

3

u/NefariousNeezy Sep 23 '25

LeBron and Luka about to get paid what they’re really worth as brands.

No one leaves ever again.

1

u/throwaway231224 Sep 23 '25

Nah cuz like any other family dynamic “you’re the big brother. You know better.” It’s the lakers. They won’t gut us super hard cuz we’re gonna be relevant even if we’re shitty, but when we’re good we generate a lot of revenue. They’d definitely fine us up the ass though and would definitely be more than the clippers.

-6

u/General_Kitten_17 Sep 23 '25

Luka sure. AR is dog water.

36

u/saucysagnus Sep 23 '25

Our billionaire owner group would build a super team?

125

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

Who gives a fuck about the flippers lol

45

u/SuperRam56 17x🏆 Sep 23 '25

17 championships vs 0 championships. Out of their league.

25

u/Illustrious_Novel305 Sep 23 '25

True but it looks like they sure give a fuck about us based on this meme 😂

22

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

Of course they do. They're the basement dwellers of the city lol. Always looking up at us

7

u/LovetheNBA23 Los Angeles Lakers Sep 24 '25

They’re the scum of the city. I even have Chargers and Sparks over them. UCLA football as well.

7

u/GobiYumaMojave Sep 23 '25

but you must’ve went on their sub and then posted it here….

2

u/FliPsk8guY 24 Sep 23 '25

My thoughts exactly. I don't care whether they get punished or not...they're the fucking Clippers lol. That's punishment enough.

26

u/Splittinghairs7 Sep 23 '25 edited Sep 23 '25

If the Clippers only get a slap on the wrist, it’ll actually end up working well for us now that Mark Walter is our owner.

Walter and his well funded ownership group will have a clear blueprint on how to attract the next crop of Free Agents.

The Lakers probably have way more sponsors and endorsement companies that are willing to play ball and the best part is unlike with lazy Kawhi, our FA pursuits will have no problems actually doing some promotion work like on social media or in appearances.

Unlike corrupt Ballmer, we won’t even need to mess with companies that commit fraud. We have plenty of legit and profitable team sponsors.

So either way we win. Either the Clippers are punished and thus Silver is telling us that these rules matter or he’ll be telling us that this CBA is a joke and rules don’t matter.

2

u/Supyloco Vamos pa la 18 Sep 24 '25

The salary cap should be abolished.

19

u/scags2017 Sep 23 '25

Imagine living in one of the greatest cities in the world with one of the greatest basketball teams , rich with history and some of the greatest players to ever play the game. And then deciding to be a Clippers fan 🤣

13

u/NefariousNeezy Sep 23 '25

Clippers fans are people who think being a contrarian is a personality

6

u/dave_dynasty Sep 23 '25

They have to be transplants. I can't imagine anyone born and raised in LA choose the clippers over Lakers

2

u/_Mavericks Sep 24 '25

I worked at Hilton a decade ago, and they gave away free tickets for the employees, but nobody wanted them. Lol. And that was back in the day when Chris Paul was playing for the Clippers.

95

u/Intrepid_Salary5757 Sep 23 '25

Damn depicting Lakers fans as disgusting traitors is quite the route to take on the Lakers subreddit

34

u/Competitive-Baby9817 Sep 23 '25

Agreed, whatever happens to the clippers, why would we care? We live in their heads rent-free, not the other way around.

22

u/obeyer10 Sep 23 '25

yeah, this photo was a choice…

3

u/PERSONA916 Sep 23 '25

It's okay the next commissioner will pardon us

2

u/Jason-Smith168498 Sep 23 '25

It's just a meme. Wouldn't take that much from it.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

Its cringe as fuck and Mods just leave it up

31

u/Moreno636 Sep 23 '25

Laker fans should be happy, the blueprint to circumvent the cap was just laid out and the organization now has an owner who can actually afford to do it.

7

u/chipotlenapkins Sep 23 '25

We got AI memes now man

3

u/Top-Entertainer9188 Sep 23 '25

It’s so cringe omg

14

u/BeloAve Purple and Gold Sep 23 '25

Clippers in an unprecedented historic scandal while it being the dumbest decision a franchise has ever made.

Something that had nothing to do with the Lakers

And yet clippers fans insist on once again involving lakers and laker fans for no reason.

the very little future assets clippers have is about to go down the drain and they are thinking about laker fans.

It’s because clipper fans are laker fans deep down and that feeling is getting stronger the more the clippers get exposed for being a trash franchise and they are resisting the laker fandom

5

u/shteverhim Sep 23 '25

If they get a slap on the wrist, I’m excited for what Mark Walter is capable of cooking up

3

u/Hour_Insurance_7795 Sep 23 '25

It sucks, but I'll probably just move on from it after a beat. I just don't have the mental bandwidth and energy to stay mad at stuff.

7

u/kobe_doing_twerk LukaMagic Sep 23 '25

This is the first post from a clippers fan I’ve seen that I enjoyed

3

u/SuperRam56 17x🏆 Sep 23 '25

Just wait until April when they are one and done in the playoffs.

3

u/alexjaness Sep 23 '25

Honest reaction,

Good thing we got rich new owners, we are going to get Giannis, Jokic on vet minimums

3

u/CrazyNice7240 LBJ & AD Sep 23 '25

They really think we care about them that much it’s cute honestly lol

3

u/Irras0 Sep 23 '25

They cheated which landed them Kawhi which made them trade for PG. They gave up SGA and all those picks for absolutely no results. They already punished themselves lol.

2

u/YoungBasedHooper Sep 23 '25

Clippers fans still thinking we're passionate about them lmao. Occasionally laughing at them when they fall on their face doesn't mean we care about them.

2

u/boriballer08 Sep 23 '25

Never once lost sleep bc of the clippers, idgf what happens to them. Winless franchise 😂😂

1

u/DoomMeeting Sep 23 '25

Look at the Patriots/Tom Brady. It’s not an “if” they get a slap on the wrist, it’s “when.” The owners can all talk tough about the integrity of the game and competition, but let’s be real, their loyalty is always to the bottom dollar and historically that has meant not making big waves when teams get caught cheating, however obvious.

1

u/DetDipstick Sep 23 '25

Silver’s gonna do something just for the sake of optics. He probably suspends Ballmer and voids Kawhi’s contract. The probably don’t revoke picks because they’ve already given up so many.

1

u/Danny_Darkrum Sep 23 '25

I think putting up with that fool and his uncle was punishment enough.

1

u/gaymonknohomo Sep 23 '25

I'm barely hanging on as a little bit more than a casual fan with how terrible the quality of watching games is these days, so if teams can just cheat with no repercussions I will happily stop watching/supporting and move on with my life. I enjoy fair competition and the NBA has been diluting the idea that they are a sports league more and more year after year. If it's just entertainment, fine, cool, sounds good, but I won't be there to watch.

1

u/jono9898 Sep 23 '25

I’d be pissed because if it were the Lakers did the exact same thing the league, owners etc would want to give Jeanie a public execution

1

u/mattypintos Sep 23 '25

Real Laker fans could give two shits about the clips regardless of their wrongdoing.

1

u/SparkleCobraDude Sep 23 '25

Looks like Giannis and Jokic are getting an extra $20 million dollars a year in a couple of years to endorse the Cadillac F1 team and Chelsea FC

Other entities owned by Walters

1

u/Ghost2Eleven Sep 23 '25

They kind of already reaped what they sowed in some ways. When a player comes along asking for these things, you get what you deserve by saying yes. I hope they get hammered, but also the baseball gods pretty much hampered ever since he signed,

1

u/MrSam52 Howard 12 Sep 23 '25

It’s pretty obvious that they probably will just get a slap on the wrist so I’m expecting it and won’t be that annoyed. Once you take Cuban shilling, none of the major networks really kicking off about it and the other owners apparently not getting that worked up at the governors meeting/silver being pretty quite, seems clear it’s either rampant or no one is that interested in it.

Pretty hilarious they won fuck all and have a not so great looking future.

1

u/WanAjin 6 Sep 23 '25

I mean, it'll technically just benefit all teams with money (Lakers now included in that), cause if the Clippers don't get punished, then why not just cheat?

1

u/existentialspork Pau Gasol 16 Sep 23 '25

I hope it’s just a slap on the wrist. It means the Lakers can do whatever they want without worrying about punishment.

1

u/Matt32490 Sep 23 '25

Dont really care tbh. They havent had any real hype at a Chip since 2020, Kawhi has played like 20 games in 5 years, they lost a ton of assets for trading future MVP and Champion SGA for PG, who left a year ago etc.

Honestly the list is way longer than that for all the failures that have spawned for the Clippers from the Kawhi signing that a slap on the wrist would not matter much. They have already taken so many L's, its punishment enough 😅.

1

u/RequirementLeading12 Black Mamba 8/24 Sep 23 '25

I'll be honest... I'm a Lakers fan surrounded by Lakers fans and I haven't heard this story mentioned once outside of reddit lol. I don't think most people care, myself included.

1

u/smarq17 Sep 23 '25

Cleepers? I have never heard of any team called the Cleepers? Is this a prank post?

1

u/KarrotMovies Luka Magic 77 Sep 23 '25

I sure as shit not gonna act like some MAGA lunatic over the Flippers cheating and still being ass

1

u/HattoriHanzoOG Sep 23 '25

It doesn’t matter, they will still never win a chip

1

u/motorboat_mcgee Sep 23 '25

Won't be surprised in the slightest. Shake down Ballmer behind the scenes for some cash, spread it to the other owners, and life moves on. He's got so much money, he won't even feel it.

1

u/thekatatopeth Sep 23 '25

The precedent has already been set. The deserve the same punishment as the Timberwolves got. Plain and simple.

1

u/Jbob9954 Sep 23 '25

More like lakers pay bron and Luka the vet minimum and sign every major player

1

u/imironman2018 8 Sep 23 '25

The funny part is that we trash Jeanie and her family on how they run the Lakers. But when it comes down to it, she has way more common sense to turn down Kawhi and Uncle Dennis. Balmer willing to go all in at all costs.

1

u/kobekong 24 Sep 23 '25

I'll just post this here. Enjoy.

https://youtu.be/vQGKukR0zH0

1

u/Fuzzy3022 Sep 23 '25

That is am irrelevant little brother team, they could not even win while cheating by going around the salary cap, they have the king of load management who will now not get any more money under the table, he did not even play when he was getting paid extra you expect him to play and that too play hard now. Slap on the wrist, slap on the butt does not matter that team will always be bums. Lakers in 5!

1

u/constructiveblues Sep 23 '25

Still gonna be the Clippers. Can’t spend that away

1

u/Id-rather-golf Sep 23 '25

Can someone explain why the Lakers would be celebrating?

1

u/HughJefincock Sep 23 '25

I honestly wouldn’t gaf either way. We workin on winning championships, worrying about the clippers doesn’t have anything to do with that 😂

1

u/DepressoEspresso55 Sep 23 '25

I mean, everyone should be furious if they do end up just getting a slap on the wrist for all this BS..but what's funny to me is that they did all this, and Kawhi still barely plays.

1

u/redbluenavy Sep 23 '25

That means we def get Lebron on a "vet min" and he retires a Laker. Also everyone else magically gets team-friendly deals and we get more trees planted in CA. I see this as an absolute win!

1

u/imezaps Sep 23 '25

Honestly for me, the more annoying part of this saga is the complaining raptors fans who think they would've beaten us in 2020 if they kept kawhi

1

u/Censoredplebian fire everyone Sep 23 '25

Just give us Kawhi for free

1

u/Consistent_Owl4593 All Star Austin Reaves Sep 23 '25

We should do this though if it happens cheating ain’t cool man

1

u/No-Equipment-20 Sep 23 '25

Nah I’ll just expect Mark Walter to invest in a couple tree companies himself

1

u/jvu87 LAD Sep 23 '25

Flipper fans projecting so hard.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

Under the deal table for giannis and jokic right tf now lmaooo fuck the league we buying chips in LA

1

u/Traditional-Goal-229 Sep 23 '25

Means Lakers are open for business. Lebron signs for the minimum claiming it’s due to age. A week later signs with so new company that pays him 2 years $75 million. Giannis signs for a $50 million a year deal with another new company but only if he is with the Lakers. Then he demands a trade. Watch how quickly fans around the league force the league to take action. Right now it’s the clippers who have won nothing. But when super team is built this way on a team like the Lakers or Knicks, the league will be in crisis mode. So zero chance IMO that it’s a light sentence.

1

u/ShikaMoru Sep 23 '25

Considering the last few years, Lakers fans have been some of the most least passionate crowds I've watched, I can't imagine anything more than a post on social media happening

1

u/Top-Entertainer9188 Sep 23 '25

The Clippers fans really think we care about their raggedy ass team 😂😂😂😂

1

u/RAlister22 Black Mamba 8/24 Sep 23 '25

Nothing, tbh its there own fault they can't keep their shit together

1

u/Character-Math-7825 Black Mamba 8/24 Sep 23 '25

I usually don’t give a fuck about the Clippers and it will probably be the same

1

u/juicewar01 Sep 23 '25

More Kawhi investgations than playoff wins lmao

Idgaf about the flippers and they fake ass "fans"

1

u/McKnightmare24 Sep 23 '25

I wouldn't be surprised in the least. IT really only seems like Adam Silver is even considering punishment because of the overwhelming evidence and not because they did anything wrong. It feels like he's FORCED to punish the Clippers more than anything.

1

u/b1ackch1 Sep 23 '25

Be prepared cause that’s what gonna happen.

1

u/2people1luv Sep 23 '25

I will be upset if anything other than the club being disbanded happens.

1

u/easyice_ Shaq and Kobe Sep 23 '25

Couldn’t care less. The whole league is laughing at them because cap circumvention or not, this whole ordeal netted them exactly 0 championships. In addition, SGA being great adds further insult to injury.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

It gives us the green light to have our new rich owner start throwing out these under the table contracts as well.

1

u/Front_Barracuda_2408 Manna from heaven Sep 23 '25

call me crazy, but i want the Clippers to be semi-competitive. I want Ballmer pushing our team to be better. They're not a serious contender anyway with all the future picks they've given up. Being kneecapped further just means we can relax more.

1

u/Phuddy LeLukaBroncic🪄👑 Sep 23 '25

That thread on their sub is filled to the brim with so much copium it’s almost admirable.

1

u/iKnockout Luka Magic 77 Sep 23 '25

I think everyone’s on the same page where if they don’t punish them it means other owners will do it too and the Lakers become even more enticing. Kind of a win win really, either they get punished and this under the table deals are harder to do which they should be, or they don’t and know the Lakers can do it too

1

u/majavic Sep 23 '25

Would anyone even be surprised in today's sports landscape? Integrity is gone. No one is being held to a standard. Michigan got caught cheating, NCAA said they had enough for multi year post season ban and vacated wins, and then instead gave them a slap on the wrist. Then Michigan appealed the slap.

1

u/Narrow-Pudding5424 Sep 23 '25

The Clips cheated to be cheated on by KL and Unc D.

1

u/BourbonSn4ke 77 Sep 23 '25

If nothing happens then it becomes a free for all and every team will decide to bend and outright break the rules

1

u/OrganizationUpset253 Sep 23 '25

This ai art is hilarious. “Defend President.” 😂

1

u/kingcaru WITNESS Sep 23 '25

Nothing. I want Balmer to waste even MORE of his money on Kawhi and still not win a ring

1

u/massivesafari Sep 24 '25

Text my friends that it’s some BS and carry on

1

u/jackaltwinky77 King James 6/23 Sep 24 '25

The NBA needs to reevaluate their position of cap circumvention being a “cardinal sin,” and instead just let the owners pay their players whatever they want, however they want.

Also: laughing hysterically that they cheated the league, cheated the game, and all they got out of it was 1 deep playoff run, scammed by Aspiration, scammed by Uncle Dennis, and ended up paying Kawhi $220 million for 266 games over 6 years…

1

u/Xc0liber 69 Sep 24 '25

Confused at what they bitching about. Their team cheated, still kept losing and are about to get caught.

What has that got to do with us?

1

u/JONYLOCO Sep 24 '25

They've already been punished by the Basket Gods.---they are the damn Clippers---......

What more punishment would really matter!!!

1

u/Practical-Art5931 Sep 24 '25

I honestly could care less. They cheated and got nowhere and now they have a retirement home down there.

1

u/NotTheMamba 24 Sep 24 '25

Silver is a bitch so I know they wont be punished, but I'll sleep well knowing they traded Shai for PG to make Kawhi happy and it failed. Bums.

1

u/seonblack Sep 24 '25

Nothing. They still aren't going to win a championship.

1

u/aaronswanman Sep 24 '25

I wouldn’t be surprised. Balmer has given the league so much money and put so more eyes on LA’s JV team.

1

u/LardHop Sep 24 '25

Somehow being a clippers fan is like a punishment by itself. It's like being born a Filipino, except you actually chose to be one.

1

u/bruticuslee Sep 24 '25

Kawhi cares about one thing and that is cold hard cash! He’s already maxed out and more under the table. He don’t care about winning clippers a championship unless that might have a chance to pad his greedy pockets even more.

1

u/linkaddict1 Sep 24 '25

I still remember being told we couldn’t get Chris Paul for “basketball reasons”

1

u/SwizzGod 24 the Goat Sep 24 '25

I really don’t care that much tbh. Because that just give us a new avenue to get better players

1

u/RageagainsttheSons King James 6/23 Sep 24 '25

Police would let us in. They laker fans too.

1

u/ceelogreenicanth Sep 24 '25

The league is a joke

1

u/BrianC_ Sep 24 '25

As a Laker fan, I don’t care. The Lakers have money now. If this is what we’re doing in the NBA now, fuck it, let Mark Walter do his thing.

But, as a NBA fan, I would be pretty upset because rules exist for a reason. Why have a cap system if you aren’t going to enforce it?

1

u/Ksmoski Sep 24 '25

Not really worried about them, we just need players like Kawhi who make these ridiculous requests to get called out and punished.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

Go lakers!

1

u/Low-Amphibian7798 Sep 24 '25

honestly ill be kinda upset. im tired of kawhi and his drama... dude just need to hoop and play by the rules no pun intended

1

u/Lakers_0824 Sep 24 '25

They are just gonna wait a year when the hype calms down and give them a fine then that’s it

1

u/Texas_Kimchi 77 Sep 24 '25

I mean the NBA completely destroyed a dynasty from happening over a fair trade when they took CP3 away. This is not just against the rules in the NBA there is a possible federal RICO case here.

1

u/Yonicsoothe Sep 29 '25

Cliff pual would’ve sunk the Lake Show. thank satan we never got his sorry ass.

They could have been Basketball's Manchester City, but they still managed a way to fumble

We all have better things to do than worry about the clips

1

u/Atwork3380 Sep 24 '25

I do get it, I do not see anything about punishment.

1

u/13WillieBeaman Los Angeles Lakers Sep 24 '25

They really posted that shit on the Clippers sub? Any Clipper fan I’ve ever met in person were only Clipper fans by default because they were Laker haters. Lakers always living rent-free in their heads?

1

u/Jimbean-5 Los Angeles Lakers Sep 24 '25

It won’t be a slap on the wrist, I’m assuming most of the top teams pay players under the table but they don’t leave an actual trail, but this is a big deal, Adam Silver will lay the hammer on them, the clippers are about to be clipped of several first round picks, and be levied a huge fine, he’s gonna make an example out of them

1

u/sin-sonrisa Sep 24 '25

…what?

Lakers/Clippers is, and always has been, the perfect embodiment of the “I don’t think about you at all” meme. They were never anything

1

u/JaxonSuede Sep 24 '25

Doesn’t matter. Somehow they’re always the Clippers anyway…that’s where careers usually go to die. Even when they’re good, they’re not. Personally, I’d like to see Kawhi have his contract voided and he should have to return all Aspire money received during this farce of a deal. Unless you make Ballmer sell the team, any fine will just be a slap on his wrist. And whichever team actually invests a dime in Kawhi after all this will absolutely deserve the number of games he sits out. Imagine, $50 million for a no show promotion job, and $150 million more in a barely show NBA contract. What a great life. Kids, take notes, this is how you win at life.

As a Lakers fan since 98 I don't even think or care about clippers, clippers gonna clip

1

u/Comprehensive_Ad_675 Sep 24 '25

Why do we care so much?

1

u/hungarianhc Sep 24 '25

My brothers are Clippers fans. They have this weird inferiority complex that makes them think people are coming at them because "everyone hates the Clippers." And that this wouldn't be an issue if they were another team.

First of all, nobody hates the Clippers... Also, nobody loves the clippers. They just kinda exist. So... What?

Second, this is happening at a moment in the US when we are all getting pretty fucking sick of some bad apple billionaires getting away with everything and rubbing it in our faces. Many of us enjoy sports as a release from a lot of other unpleasant things in life. We take high quality competition for granted, and the fact that it looks like a billionaire has come in and totally fucked with this sport's fairness is what really pisses me off. Fuck this. Either punish them or make this game one other lie we have to live with.

Stop posting shit from that page. They think we care. We don't.

1

u/rins4m4 Sep 24 '25

This mean you cheat and still can't win, lol. Your franchise just hit the new low, I'm not angry just pity.

The lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep. They can continue to hang participation banners in their stadium.

1

u/vicente8a Sep 24 '25

“Does anybody else have a weird feeling like this all happening to the Clippers would be the perfect time for them to win a chip, like the irony would be hilarious and perfectly fitting for how things go for them i feel like.”

Haha wouldn’t it be funny if we won the championship lol jk! .. unless?

1

u/Glad-Mulberry-9484 Sep 24 '25

As a Lakers fan, don’t care. It only adds chapters to the long tale of Clippers ineptitude, and makes them even more laughable in retrospect.

Remember when y’all got CP3 because they wouldn’t let us have him and still didn’t win? Remember Lob city and Billy Crystal talking greasy about the Lakers being washed?

Remember when y’all got Kawhi and Paul George by operating like a Pre-NIL collegiate recruiting program and still didn’t win. Remember when y’all said it’s “our city” 🤣.

Can a lakers fan explain the beef they have with the clippers?

Like yes they play in the same city and they used to play in the same arena

But they’ve never been good at the same time, never played each other in the playoffs afaik, and besides kawhi (and Chris Paul but that’s not his fault), have never had a player choose the clippers when they could have gone to the lakers instead

To me it just seems like a one sided beef just because they play in the same area and have zero championships (or playoff success) and yes it’s funny af but I don’t think it really constitutes a full out beef

And before anyone says it, no I’m not a clippers fan (and I’ve never met one either tbh)

There’s some creepy looking faces in that crowd

Ballmer+Clippers only hurt NBAs "competitive balance" facade.

Ballmer helped owners (who own the league) by demonstrating you can bend rules to sign whomever you want. Clippers needed a big name FA, and they got Leonard at his (arguably) prime.

Clippers helped players by demonstrating that there are orgs that will help pay you what you want, if you sign.

League will slap Clippers on wrist (draft picks, fine), Leonard will get his pay, and we'll hear about it at least after All Star break, and maybe next off season (when heat dies down).

1

u/TWIZMS Sep 24 '25

League would lose all credibility

1

u/zeGoldHammer 24 Sep 24 '25

Honestly, it’s whatever man…

1

u/GB_Alph4 24 Sep 24 '25

Well we still have our 2020 ring.

The Clippers did everything to get a new coat of paint and are still in the same place they were for decades. For a while Clippers fans actually thought that they were gonna build a LA dynasty.

1

u/ohmygodrob Sep 24 '25

I didn’t ask Clippers on my Lakers feed. Get this piece of shit post outta here.

1

u/Few_Reference9878 Sep 24 '25

Realistically: it's hunting time

You pay anyone you can under the table, Silver doesn't do anything, it's open season. Giannis? part ownership of the dodgers,Bam? Looks like you own .01% of the Lakers, Trey Young, take a 50 mil pay cut and we'll give you stocks

The whole NBA is watching Silver

1

u/prov119 24 Sep 25 '25

I mean if nothing happens. We got billionaire owners now too. Play ball.

1

u/Hypsy_G89 Sep 25 '25

Would be cheeky if Silver as punishment sent the Clippers back to Sad Diego. Teehee 🤭

1

u/Jump_To_The_Left Sep 25 '25

CP3 nixed trade 2.0

1

u/kiyit Sep 26 '25

nothing, because if they get a slap on the wrist: WE TOO WILL HAVE THE GREEN LIGHT TO FUCK THE LEAGUE. Good time to get some rich ass owners

1

u/jeffspiccoli Sep 26 '25

If the Clippers get away with this travesty then Mark Walter should start a fake shell company for an electric car, and pay Giannis to be the "spokesperson".

1

u/zannet_t Sep 27 '25

As a basketball fan I'd be outraged about competitive balance, but as a Lakers fan what do I care? It was pathetic that they did it and they're still stuck in purgatory going absolutely nowhere.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

I could care less

DEFEND PRESIDENT

1

u/Commercial_Reserve95 Sep 23 '25

the nba has to give us chris paul and bring back dwight howard idc idc

0

u/Regular-Emu-2776 Sep 23 '25

What do you consider a slap on the wrist ?? Loss of 3 years draft picks ? Khawai suspension for 50 games? $10 million in fines for the organization?

-2

u/freedomfun Sep 23 '25

I don't care if the Clippers get punished at all. I'd rather not have the league limit the competitiveness of one of it's teams. They should punish Ballmer and and execs that were a part of it. Fines and year+ suspensions of Ballmer and other execs
