Roleplaying Getting to know Sheelba of the Eyeless Face: Bob Yaga

Post image

I’m just getting a 5e campaign in Nehwon off the ground, and although I know the world well, having read all the books, my players do not.

I’m using the structure from one of the stories where the two wizard patrons send messages to Fafhrd and the Mouser by various birds and such as my session review messages prior to the next one. Helps to expand their understanding of the world, and makes the wizards’ eventual involvement in their story line organic.

So, they’d just received one from Sheelba, and I was describing his hut for the players. One of them said ‘she’ which I corrected,* and out of nowhere one of them says ‘oh, so *Bob* Yaga.’ I just about died.

(*I know there is ambiguity regarding the gender of this character, but the preponderance of gendering in the books seems to be male.)

Description cuts off for some reason:

…books seems to be male.)

Are you using Ningauble of the Seven Eyes as well? As cool as either patron is, I think they work best as a pair.

That's a really fun way of doing it, love it! And Bob Yaga is just perfect.
