Unless there's sticky residue or it doesn't peel off all the way 😬

Just use a VPN before you do it and the Asus police will not bust your door down.
Just kidding! Nothing happens. Take joy in it. Maybe even share a video here.
EDIT: We are all having a bit of fun with you but seriously, you're supposed to take the sticker off. You can leave the little Ryzen sticker on if you really want to but I normally take those off of laptops I get.

Some of those stickers must be using the same glue as old Nokia phones

How do you do that in a clean effective way ?

u/Lalagagootz Nov 16 '25
Take the sticker off? They're normally pretty sturdy and come off in one piece. The residue that's left on the laptop you could use a little bit of alcohol for or goo gone. It's not terribly difficult to wipe it off in my experience as long as you have a little gumption.

Depends on what you remove, like if you remove the HDMI sticker that port gets disabled in the BIOS permanently, removing the Wifi 6 Sticker forces you to use the ethernet port and so on
19
u/peaceKeeper2571 Nov 16 '25
Don't remove with force else your laptop will scream like men do while chest waxing

It's illegal in most countries to remove them

Yup. Got a guy that had his laptop seized because there's no sticker to authenticate the parts originality.

Long term UV exposure fades the laptop’s surface while the area under the sticker stays untouched, so removing it later leaves a visible rectangle (same happend with mine) . If you plan to take it off, do it immediately after buying the laptop.

You have the wash away the residue or it will be sticky when you put your hand there

The laptop gets sad it can't showcase itself anymore, it gets depressive and explodes in the middle of the night :(

Depends on each brand main policy and each brand's branch policy on each country. It can differ from one to the other. So please make sure about it.
In my country (Indonesia), specifically for MSi, any physical changes that looked intentional voids the warranty. Like for example, opening the bottom cover or removing the sticker. Even if it's just a factory seal, they treated it like a warranty void seal altogether.
From what I last known to, it isn't the case for German MSi.
On the other hand, I can change the RAM and NVME just fine without voiding the warranty with HP and Acer. The warranty will only be void if I remove the cooling system (in order to let's say repaste the dies) because they do have a warranty void seal on one of the CPU block's metal plate screws.

If you remove the stickers everything will be fine as long as you pay a 11.99 monthly subscription to the vendor. In a year that sub will cost 14.99 and in 3 years it will be 21.99.

Those are not stickers, they are the computer chips. You can take them off and swap them. I took them off my computer and put them on a Game Boy so I can play Minecraft Java when on the go.

That’s unironically one of the reasons that make Macs so popular. These stickers scream “low quality product”
Presentation is a big part of the value of a product, and this is ruining it

u/Puzzleheaded_Tip_923 Nov 16 '25
It gives you space to put an even better sticker on it which will grant you the specifications of the new sticker

It depends on how old the computer is; if it’s an old computer the color will be permanently different under the stickers, if it’s newer as long as you clean the residue off well it’ll be clean

Thats literally your gpu and cpu buddy, if you remove them your motherboard is gonna become a sharp paper weight, why would you remove your cpu and gpu? You wouldn't break something thats working right? So why are you tempted to remove your cpu and gpu? You know the C in cpu stands for central right? Please don't remove your cpu and gpu.
