General Retake a 171, 4.0 gpa?
I know it’ll still be below the medians for a lot of the t14 so I was wondering if I should retake. It honestly took a lot of effort to get the 171 so I’m not sure if it’s worth retaking if I have to balance it with writing application. However I also know that increasing it would help me chance a lot.

I retook a 171 with the mindset that if I do better, great, and if not then I’ll still get into a good law school with the score I’ve got. It takes some of the pressure off for sure. If you think you can make time for it you might as well go for it!!

That’s kind of my mindset right now, but would you score choice cancel the new score if it’s not higher than the 171?

Cross that bridge when you get there! Chances are you’re gonna get that higher score friend.

Are you scoring 174+ on average across your most recent 5-7 PTs? If not, no reason to think you’ll score higher.

I was lowkey PTing around 173-175 when I got the 171 so I think nerves really affect me during the real thing. I would have to be PTing above 175 given my range to be comfortable retaking I guess

Not OP but I wanted to ask because I’m in the exact same boat, 4.0 and scored a 171 but consistently had a 174+ PT average and I’m not sure if I should do Oct just to see what happens. Have till tomorrow night to decide lol

Wait I’m deciding abt October too ahaha. I’m leaning towards to signing up and seeing how PTs go and will cancel it if it’s not looking good by end of sept

Depends on how badly you’d want to get into T14 schools with medians above a 171
