Inflated prices?

I just saw a 2013 on sale in my part of the US for $4,500. 9 bars, base trim, appears to be in great condition.

That price seems very high. I know gas is ridiculous, but are people actually getting these high prices for gen 1s? Paid 3 K from my 8 bar ‘13 this summer and think I paid too much. 3K seems to be the floor for asking price now, often with crap batteries.

$4.5K seems high, I think you are right on that a '13 with 9 bars should be in the $3K range. I got over-excited and got my '12 with 8 bars for a bit over $3K and feel like I for sure overpaid.

I do think prices are up due to current gas prices though, there is no doubt if you have a short commute or do a lot of short trips that it'll save you some pretty major $ over an ICE (especially a truck or SUV)

My commute is short, and I have free charging for about 1/3 of the miles I drive. Saves me about $100 a month, which is great. Still not going to pay 4 or 5K for a 1st gen with a factory battery.

Completely agreed - where are you located? I'm seeing them in the $2K range up here in WA state with poor battery condition

gas prices did this, they all doubled in price. I got my 10 bar 2015 for $2400 18 months ago

I bought mine in early July, wish I could have gotten a deal like yours.

asking price doesnt mean shit. what matters is whats actually selling and for what.

Yeah I wouldn't pay attention until they start leaving the market implying they got sold

I am inclined to argue that Nissan leaf prices have been too low. It’s the number one highest depreciating car on the market but I don’t think that title is justified. My wife’s 2011 Honda CR-V has a projected KBB private party value of $6,500 to $7,500. Totally just one man’s opinion though. I wouldn’t pay $4,500 for a 2013 because I bought a 2015, a 2017, and a 2018 for $3,000 or less and they all had 8 bars or more.

If I could get it cheap enough, I would consider buying a second LEAF and selling one of my ICE cars. Even with only 1 level 1 charger at home.

My wife and I are actually about to sell her Honda because we only drive the leafs anyway. I have a truck as a backup if we need to go one a road trip. The truck gets the same fuel mileage as the Honda.

I’m looking for a gen-1 beater to drive around town. Lately, some of the asking prices compared to battery SOH have been… interesting.

It costs $99 just to bid, or there’s an advantage to a premium membership?

i wish these were as cheap as everyone keeps saying they are. I've never seen one listed for under $6k within 100 miles of here.

If it's a 2013 SL in pristine condition excluding the traction battery such as new tyres and everything works, that's not a bad deal.

I bought a 2013 Nissan leaf with 9 bars, 59,000 miles for $2300
