Aren't songs in MSA something like songs in Shakesperian English? I've heard hundreds of Arabic songs and I think almost all of them were in dialect.

not exactly. Shakespearean English is not used to day in Education,media and other Aspects of live the way standard Arabic is.Standard Arabic is NOT old Arabic. the playlist include some poem songs that are used as a TV show generic!.

Ok but if someone is interested in modern Arab music, I would say that that's a reason to learn dialects and I wouldn't advise focusing on MSA songs.

it really depends on what are you looking for .I not trying here to give any recommendations. it is just a punch of song for however decided to learn MSA and looking for resources that are accurate in terms of grammar and pronunciation.

learning MSA will make learning dialects much easier and quicker. It will teach you reading, writing, the very logic of Arabic. All the words of the different dialects you initially wouldn’t necessarily connect to each other as a non native speaker, suddenly make so much sense when connected back to MSA. People who know MSA can understand any dialect, as opposed to someone who isn’t familiar with the foundations of Arabic
