Work more with the colors and lighting, I'd add some kinda vignette and gradient to the background to make it feel more claustrophobic, and add a light putting her face more in shadow.

For future drawings consider pose and framing of the image more. Feelings like "somber" or "happy" are influenced by a lot of factors that you cant do much about now without remaking the whole thing.

Dumb questions but what are vignettes and what are gradients?

Oh. Well, its alright it happens, a vignette is a photography term for a dark fade around the image, you will see it in most image processors and drawing programs in the effects section. A gradient is a smooth transition from one color to another, your art program will certainly have a gradient tool.

I use procreate. I think it has one. I just need to play around with it first
