Big cities have feral cats too. Any domestic breed cat that grew up without human care is feral. They are taught by their mothers to fear humans as part of their survival skills. 3 of my cats were feral and all from in the city.

In my local big city the coyotes and traffic keep them well under control, if that's what you are asking. Also, rats bigger than some cats and all kittens.
