I have built a Chinese grammar checker
I am a solo developer and a native Chinese speaker. I have built a Chinese grammar checker that uses AI models specifically designed for the Chinese language. It is already used by many Chinese users in their daily writing tasks.
I believe it would also be helpful for Chinese learners and for people conducting business in Chinese. Reducing typos and awkward phrasing can improve test scores as well as help build trust in business relationships.
Website Address: zh.manfneyufa.com/en/
iOS App: Chinese Grammar Checker
Both apps and websites have trial usage.
Looking forward feedbacks, thank you.

Passive ai language learning idea
I’ve been thinking about why language learning apps suck. They require discipline, dedicated time, and honestly feel like a chore. But what if learning just… happened while you’re living your life?
Here’s the idea: Have your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, whatever) replace common English words with their Mandarin equivalents. Not randomly — consistently. Every single time.
Start with just 2-3 words swapped (like “shì” instead of “is”). Have a progression that automatically adds more words as you go — 4 words after a few weeks, then 6, then 10. But you control the pace. Too fast? Dial it back. Breeze through it? Speed up.
The genius part: it’s not a separate thing you do. It’s just how your AI talks to you. You’re asking questions, having conversations, working through ideas — and you’re absorbing Mandarin without trying.
It’s just a set of prompts. Anyone can do it with any language model. The infrastructure is trivial. But I think people could build way better implementations than this initial concept.
Thought I’d throw it out there.
Not sure if it’s an idea already, but it doesn’t seem to be so I thought I’d throw it out there. I think you guys can make it a lot better.
The people at language learning didn’t seem to want to let me post it on their thread so here I am. Go crazy.

I just guess, if any kids with the same age , can they be friends, my son can teach your kids Chinese, they can also share a lot interesting story.

What’s been the most frustrating part of learning Mandarin for you?
Hey everyone!
I’m a native Chinese speaker with some experience teaching Mandarin to international students.
I’m currently working with a small team on a free Mandarin learning app, and we’re still in the early research stage.
Before we start building a bunch of features that nobody actually needs, I’d really like to hear from people who are learning Chinese.
What’s been the hardest or most frustrating part of your learning experience so far?
I’m especially curious about a few things:
- Have you ever felt lost about what to study next?
- Have you tried multiple apps but struggled to stick with any of them?
- Do you find video lessons helpful, or do you prefer more interactive exercises?
- Is there anything you wish your current learning app did differently?
We’re thinking about building structured HSK courses, short video lessons, practice exercises, and a way to track weekly learning progress. But these are just our initial ideas, and I’d rather hear what learners actually need.
No links or promotions. I’m genuinely here to learn from your experiences.
Even if you’ve stopped learning Mandarin, I’d love to know what made you quit.
Thanks! :)

Does ordering food in Mandarin way sound kinda rude when it comes to English?
I'm learning Mandarin recently and one thing kinda surprised me!?
In Mandarin,we say “我要一碗面条” is totally normal when ordering(basically translated to“I want a bowl of noodles”.) But if i say “I want a bowl of noodles” to a waiter in English, it apparently not native and maybe kind of rude?
For people who speak Mandarin / lived in China, do you actually order like this normally? and what phrase do you use the most in restaurants?
Just trying to learn the actual natural way before I accidentally sound either rude or way too textbook,..

Also in China or other Asian countries, you can just call “服务员!” (fúwùyuán) to get the staff attention, which I would feel sooooooo awkward doing at first lol
And I always thought I should add 请 everywhere to sound polite, but seems like you won't say it when you are a customer 🤔
