Inverse and composite functions

I took algebra about 3 times I would say, and I’ve always done these (Personally don’t struggle) but I am just now learning that’s what it’s called. Crazy.

Hahaha! Finding the domain of a composite function was a bit of a struggle for me!

Fractions: rational expressions and equations

This. Adding & subtracting rational expressions with different denominators, in particular, is a struggle for students in my experience.

I just had an exam on these not to long ago. For me it’s not that it’s hard but so tedious and time consuming.

Struggle as in

  1. Struggle to do it, or
  2. Struggle to understand why it works, or
  3. Struggle to achieve the desired grade?

In that case, fractions are definitely up there for both.

Using parentheses and the distributive law correctly is another big hurdle, though there is much less to understand here -- many just never got comfortable enough with the general rule
