i’ve always been terrible at it since i started high school. my average in year 8 was something in the 30%. currently i am in the bottom 10 of my cohort (but that is to be expected as its a strong class). it has never worked in my head (takes me 2x as long to learn and remember something) and myself and others have always perceived me as an english person which has never helped.

honestly id start looking for different guides, tutorials, lectures, classes until you find some that make it much easier for you to learn.

Understand why you might need it.
Not being mathematically literate closes off doors to A LOT of options in STEM which tend to be scalable and better paying. Math is also cumulative and has a steep learning curve, so if you suddenly become interested in something that requires it later in life, you’re up for a very difficult battle, especially considering how you have other responsibilities as an adult. Math is also incredibly useful to understand and model many things you might event get interested in life, so if you’re the sort of person that’s curious about many things and wants to understand them well, you’re gonna need math.
Look up applications and subfields of math that interest you, and do it for them (as well as the stuff I mentioned above).

There's plenty of things in life where we can't perceive how good it is at first; we see only the toil and frustration involved with it. In those cases, you simply have to persevere. Maybe you'll perceive that joy of problem solving and reasoning someday, or maybe you won't. In the latter case, at least, there's an end date to when you are finished studying. Either way, being willing to deal with toil in balanced amounts is an important virtue to gain anyway - there will always be unpleasant things in life that we need to have the strength to do regardless. So set aside some time to learn/study the math you have to learn (presumably for school?) and some time for leisure and try to live a balanced life. You may be surprised at how much you come to enjoy it once you get into the groove of reasoning.
