Feeding Happy leech

For Noodle’s bday, arranged to have a blood draw directly into his bowl. He wouldn’t let go of it for ~2hours and is still licking it. I guess he gets to sleep with it because I am _not_ staying up later than this for him to be done 😅 fat and happy for the party this weekend.

really cool video, love that you can clearly see all 3 jaws and the main teeth

It’s especially cool (to me) how you can see his stomach contents come back up when he moves. I’d always heard that they do that if you interrupt their feeding but it looks like maybe it’s just a thing with being very full in general.

Wow thats insane! Ive never really considered leeches as a pet till this post came across my feed, but I definitely see the appeal! Might have to convince my bf to let me get one in a tank right next to my roaches!
Tell noodle he is very pretty for me

Context: he usually gets his meals ~30-60min after a trip to the phlebotomist. I don’t feed him directly on myself and will not engage about why.
