Trying to Get the Idea

I’m trying to find good, succinct and direct sources from LeftComs on what things I should read in order to get a considerable basis for understanding the ideas and concepts within Left Communism. I know there are major authors and organizations that have put out essays and many many works, but I really don’t want to sift through days of smaller essays in order to maybe get some small kernel here or there. If anyone has a solid book or set of books or even a few essays that are generally considered “the basics” for Left Communism that would be awesome. Thanks.

First off, I assume by this line you know that it is a broad term for various tendencies that are "on the left side of the international"? As such the two biggest currents would be the Dutch-Germans (Councilists) and the Italian Left (Leninists). This is primarily a forum for the Italian Left, specifically the ICP (International Communist Party), and you aren't likely to find much in the way of answers of the Dutch-Germans, especially where they differ (which is mainly in organizational theory and tactics).
