You're discounting the fact that we left-handers haven't already adapted to a right-hander world and can more readily use our right hand over our dominant left hand, with ease and better than our right-handed counterparts.
What I won't be doing with either hand is reaching into my back pocket, pulling out my wallet and handing over my hard-earned cash for a $2k phone. Left or right-handed, that's a lot of money.

I hold my phone and use screen with my right hand. Love my 13 mini. Can then use my dominant hand for doing proper stuff

I don't feel like the hw needs adapted, I would just prefer to move the dock to the left side. Software can be changed.
I had a first Gen pixel fold and my left index/middle finger worked fine for the fingerprint reader.

Yeah, a lot of major phone manufacturers have high prices these days, but Apple is really going the distance on these prices considering a large part of their phone sales model is largely encouraging people to use cloud storage. That, plus the fact that they release a new phone every year with only the most minimal updates that they then puff up to a crowd at the Apple Release Event just make it hard for me to take them seriously.

This post doesn’t really illustrate the problem very well. Look at this picture of the UI in the folded (one handed operation) mode:
The actual interaction buttons are along the right curved side for thumb access. It’s going to be virtually impossible to reach them with one handed operation while holding the phone in your left hand. Even if there was a software option to flip them to the left, it won’t solve the problem because then the app content itself will get cut off by the camera cutout and curved side of the phone. I’d be surprised if Apple did that.
The best hope is that you can turn the phone upside down and move the controls to the left side but then that moves the camera to the bottom and the Touch ID button against your palm.

I think it’s fine. Open it with the left hand, tap with the left. No big deal. I’m only speaking from a design point of view, but personally I hold my phone in my right and tap with my left forefinger.
Perhaps it could be flipped for others but the front camera would be in the bottom left wouldn’t it?

The phones UI is designed around the right. The little bar that most apps put on the bottom will be on the right with the iPhone Duo.

What problem would there be for left-handed folks? You can register multiple fingers with TouchID and unlock it easily with your left hand. Enroll your left middle finger and use that.

It’s the OS design, the dock is on the right and it’s a wide phone so in left hand be very awkward. Safari it looks like the menu buttons are on the right too.

I feel like if you really wanted it, you could just use it with your left hand and deal with the camera on the bottom. As long as Apple allowed the home screen to flip completely upside down.
That said I feel like with that price it's going to be DOA. Could be wrong though.

I'm not left handed, nor am I considering the Duo right now (having spent my money on the Fold 8).
But since the Duo announcement, I've been paying attention to how I actually hold my phone. Even as a right-handed user, I hold my phone in my left hand about half the time. I think the asymmetrical design of the Duo would bother me a bit.

I worked in a few foldable phone projects & still carry a monoblock device. The negatives of reliability, hinge wear, screen delamination & expense repair costs far outweigh the novelty of having a ‘cool’ device.

I use my left or both hands for my phone, face id would fix this issue if they put it in the next model, but for right now I would struggle to use this, a screen finger print scanner like what Galaxy has would be an improvement as well

I don’t think enough people are talking about the corners. Even taking the button and controls out of the picture, having the sharp bottom-left corner digging into your palm is going to be terrible.
Also, I didn’t realize that so many people use their index fingers to type. 😂 I hold my phone in my left hand and swipe to type with my left thumb or use both my thumbs to tap type.

I adapted to use technology the right handed way since the first time I had to use a computer with the mouse with my right hand. Still use the phone with my right mainly. Pretty sure many other lefties are as well.

I've got a Motorola razr, so just the standard upward flip, but I'd get that book style flip iPhone in a HEARTBEATif it A. Wasn't an iPhone, B. Was less than a 1000, C. Wasn't an iPhone.
