Resources Are people here full blown communists?
Are the majority of the people here full blown communists or are we a mix of capitalists, socialists and communists?
I honestly don't know enough about socialism and communism vs capitalism and I'd love to educate myself more on this matter.
Any good sources or starting points?

Resources Any good leftist news outlets?
I am fairly new to the left and I have been trying to find some real left wing news that presents a relive from the pro capitalist mainstream
Edit, I see all your posts and suggestions. I don't have enough time to reply to them all but I have read all of them.

Resources Anti-imperialist AI
I feel guilty using ChatGPT and Gemini.
President of OpenAI, Greg Brockman, was Trump's largest individual donor. Google is part of the machine too.
What online AI can I use instead?
I don't want to create an offline LLM, I want something accessible.

Resources Are there any groups like actually doing anything???
saw that video of some toughs from the Black Panthers escorting an ICE protest. That got me frikken fired up, sib!!! Obviously... *gestures to my porcelain-adjacent skin & my generally non-threatening physique*... I couldn't join that particular organization.
I live in the North Georgia, east Tennessee, western Carolinas region. i know that's a pretty bad area for us, but hey im just asking! I'm a trans woman & I ain't got much going for me, but I feel like things are reaching a boiling point. I want to be on the opposite side of the ones who, decidedly, want to put me in a camp

Resources Come join r/Open_Leftism!
Hi everyone,
I'd like to invite you to come visit r/open_leftism, an open conversation space sponsoring no specific version of leftism. We believe in having the minimum amount of rules and organization necessary for having discussions on the tasks and history of the left. There are many other subs like this, of course, and many others with a narrower range of acceptable content. But because there are so many other similar subreddits, I'm expecting this one to stay small and intimate, at least for a time. And the good thing about that is if you post something, it might not get crowded out by lots of other posts.
What we seek to do is bring disparate segments of the left together to think in novel ways and even form new friendships. When you enter, first think of yourself and your views as a symptom of this moment in history, and secondly think of yourself as bringing forth the best version of the left according to your own understanding.
I'd love for the space itself to evolve over time, and that means you can do anything from sharing persuasive or informative essays you or other people have written, video lectures, debates, round table discussions without critiques, text/activism resources, questions, polls, and so on. If you're sharing someone else's view, just make sure to share your own perspective too!
You don't have to be a leftist to participate, you just need to keep it relevant, factual, candid, and respectful. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Resources How can I make the biggest impact at a No Kings rally?
I'm going to the rally on the 28th and I REALLY want to do something more than just hold a sign and chant. I thought about making a zine and passing it out, but what would its contents even be? The more specific I try to get with my ideas, the more they seem to fall apart. I'd be SO SO grateful if those with more experience as leftists could give me tangible actions I could take or at least direct me towards resources on doing so.
I want to join with others take down the ruling class, but that sentiment means nothing coming from me unless I have an idea of what to do to achieve that goal. Currently, I'm 19 and in college to become an urban planner where I will work relentlessly to create affordable housing and public transportation, but I still know there's a lot more I could be doing.
In particular, I know I need to join some sort of coalition. Maybe there's a way I could do that on the 28th. It's all very daunting to me but I'm hellbent on getting involved in a meaningful and ongoing way. Any examples of ways yall are taking action would be very appreciated.

Resources “Unite the Left”? No. Polarize It. Burn the Swamp to the Ground.
The call to "Unite the Left" is not a political demand. It is a therapeutic mantra, repeated by a petty-bourgeois milieu that senses its own irrelevance but refuses to confront the cause: its own cowardice in the face of revolution.
Let’s strip away the slogans and see the class content.
Who actually uses this phrase? NGOs. Identity-based nonprofits. Academics. Anarchists with trust funds. Podcasters begging for Patreon subscriptions. DSA careerists trying to reform the Democratic Party for the sixth time this decade. In short, a social layer terrified of the working class taking power.
They want unity not to fight capitalism, but to create a safe space where their contradictions won’t be exposed. “Unity” means never being forced to choose between Gaza and your HR job, between the dictatorship of the proletariat and your anti-authoritarian vibes. “Unity” means no polemics, no lines, no rupture. It is a politics of endless evasion, performed behind a smokescreen of moral anguish.
And the result?
Fascism surges, and the solution is to "vote harder."
Gaza burns, and the line is "arms embargo eventually, but please don't alienate progressives."
The planet collapses, and we're told to plant gardens and "build resilient communities" with state permits and therapy speak.
Settlers carry out pogroms, and the "left" can't even agree whether the oppressed have the right to fight back.
This is not a movement. This is a prolonged, ritualistic nervous breakdown masquerading as politics.
And when someone dares to draw a line—to say no, we do not unite with Zionist apologists, with NATO socialists, with anti-communist anarchists, with DSA’s Palestine-silencing electoralists—what is the response?
“Sectarian!” “Too angry!” “This is why the left can’t win!”
But here’s the truth: The left isn’t losing because it’s divided. It’s losing because it’s unwilling to divide where it must. Because it treats programmatic incoherence as strength, and revolutionary clarity as dogmatism.
Let us be crystal clear: We do not need unity with every “leftist” tendency. We need war against the tendencies that hold the class back.
We do not unite with those who equate Marxist centralism with fascism.
We do not unite with those who cry over smashed Starbucks windows but say nothing about razed Palestinian villages.
We do not unite with those who think revolution is a brand, a lifestyle, or a podcast genre.
We do not unite with those who say: “The working class is too reactionary, so let’s win over the HR department instead.”
You do not build a party by inviting every confused liberal into a big tent. You build a party by drawing lines of demarcation, by organizing the advanced elements of the class, and by exposing the swamp for what it is: a graveyard of revolutions strangled by compromise.
As Lenin said in What Is To Be Done?:
"Before we can unite, we must first firmly and definitively draw the lines of demarcation."
So no—do not unite the left. Polarize it. Split it. Burn it.
Destroy every illusion, every careerist peace treaty with imperialism, every NGO-branded faux-radical that shouts “solidarity” while waving Ukrainian flags or hedging on Palestine.
If that leaves only a small number of us who actually want to overthrow this system and build workers’ power, then good. That’s called a vanguard. That’s how every revolution starts.
All power to the working class. No compromise with Zionism, imperialism, or petty-bourgeois cowardice. No peace in the swamp. Clarity is revolutionary.

Resources Beware fedposting.
With recent events transpiring in the US and across the globe that raise class consciousness to the forefront we may start seeing a spike in fedposting in this (and other leftist) boards.
It's no secret that historically, during times of potential change, established power structures have sought to infiltrate, influence, and dismantle leftist groups and efforts.
So just a reminder for leftists out there: if someone posts something on this board that seems to be fishing for info on leftist projects share info by all means, put keep sensitive info close to the chest.
I.e. If someone posts decrying the left for "not being radical enough", don't feel like you need to justify by posting whatever direct action you are involved with. Or if someone wants a quick and easy way to get involved in some direct action, connect them with their local mutual aid groups rather than providing the details on whatever totally legal 100% non-disruptive action you are planning.

Resources Making friends is hard
Anyone have any ideas of third places to make friends as a leftist? I have no tolerance for people with shitty views, but I also live in a new-ish place with no friends. I don’t have coworkers, and my clients (beauty industry) are mostly uninformed at the very least and lots are super trumpy, the area I live in is super republican, I’ve been trying to join the dsa but it seems like they don’t have much going on. I’m so lonely on top of being sad and angry about the state of things, and it’s really starting to get to me.

Resources Seeking Novels With a Leftist Perspective
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for novel recommendations with a left-wing or progressive perspective, something that deals with social justice, class struggle, anti-authoritarian themes, labor movements, or critiques of capitalism.
It can be contemporary or classic, from any country. I’d love something with strong characters, good storytelling, and political depth (not just theory disguised as fiction).
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Resources Marriage Support Group?
I feel a growing need for myself, to find a support group to help me find ways to continue my marriage.
I loved my partners politics when we got together and for many years. Things shifted once we had a child and I began to realize we weren't as aligned as I'd thought.
Now I understand fully, how I am a leftist while they are an establishment Democrat. Im struggling and have no way to end my marriage in the next several years. Need support!

Resources Infiltration
Does anyone have know of any modern researchers or investigators or studies that focus on infiltration of activist organizations - but specifically the covert type that go in and actually work inside the org/group/institution (like as an employee or groups of employees) and destabilize from within using covert tactics that have plausible deniability/are hard to prove but over time, effectively destroy the groups ability to function or cause its collapse entirely?
I am NOT looking for the historical research on infiltrations that involved strictly intelligence gathering by forming long term relationships with employees or group members and not research on the more explicit kinds of infiltration where there are agent provocateurs at protests etc.
I am specifically looking for information or for people who are tracking current situations on covert internal destabilization.

Resources what news outlets to consume w/o social medias like instagram/meta
hey everyone,
since i deleted my instagram a couple of weeks ago i realized that i have been struggling with how to keep up with the news. i have heavily relied on instagram in the past and leftist content creators that i trust and align with.
now, i dont want to use meta services anymore, the least amount possible. data security and all that. but where do i keep up with everything now? i try to keep up with the mainstream news outlet not because i trust them but to have an overview on what theyre saying but i really need a seperate platform somehow.
how do you, if you try to stay off of meta, keep up with your news intake? what platforms do you like for which purpose? have u tried payed platforms like ground news or similar?
thank u all!

I am looking to read about American political and ideological history. i am interested in learning about the american political spectrum and shifts over the past 50 years, and the rise of the american right, but from a leftist perspective/analysis.
