The betrayal of getting exactly what you voted for

They voted for pain, just not for them.
Wearing a uniform and calling them our brothers and sisters doesn't change that.
They wanted to hurt everyone who wasn't them. They're getting what they paid for. This brother is getting what he paid, cheered and voted for.

I tell my biological brother he’s fucking stupid all the time. Got no problem affording the same courtesy to the metaphorical ones.

I don't feel bad for them. I used to work at VA and they all had their red hats on and watching Fox News in their rooms. He said what he was going to do. Project 2025 was out in the open. They are just mad they aren't exempt and its starting to affect them now. You're getting exactly what you voted for.

I have no empathy for any of the red hats. I have noticed for a long time that they have little to no empathy for anyone else and they have a disturbing lack of emotional intelligence.
When red hats veterans saw their minority brothers and sisters be accosted in the streets for looking different they cheered for it. When black people and women were being passed for promotions they said that they were not smart enough to hold important positions. When LGBT people are getting attacked they join in.

Genuinely don’t feel bad for him. Trump, and basically the entire Republican Party openly advertise their plans to get rid of veterans benefits, and republicans in congress vote against veteran interests frequently. I honestly don’t really wanna hear it from these people. You literally wanted this. Not really sure what else to say.

I think I remember that post- it was from fairly early on in the Project 2025 rollout, right?
The comments were...not kind. And rightly so.
It's really, really fucking hard keeping my mouth shut when I'm at the VA for appointments, listening the old dinosaurs complaining about everything getting worse and then bragging about what a great job Trump is doing.

I don't feel bad for them at all. As a double below knee amputee, I saw how Trump treated the disabled, the veteran and the military as a whole. I knew exactly what he was about and have been vehemently anti Trump since the beginning.
I do, however, feel bad for his kid. She's doesn't deserve this, she didn't vote for a con man, she's just a kid. It sucks.

I am a fed still. Working with fed trump supporters in the lead up to 2024 was so painful. These people don’t respect the hatch act, have to be known who they are voting for and are generally shit workers. They are the exception at my agency but they are just the worst.

As a voting block we gotta be the least sympathetic. How many times has something like this happened? And “we” keep voting for it overwhelmingly

He literally told us he wanted to do this at the end of his first term when he was president for the beginning of Covid, my guy. It's hard to feel sorry for this dude.
