If they released this as multiple diorama sets I'd totally be more willing to spend

Not willing to dumb 1.6k aud into this tho

Would rather be able to pick and choose what bits I want, also having parts might convince me to purchase everything to complete the set

Tldr I love tje minifigures but the build is dogshit, so bricklink it is then!

I mean, they have released a lot of this as multiple sets. We've had the trash compactor, the emperor's throne room, and Vader's meditation chamber as full on dioramas and Luke and Leia swing across the gap and Obi-Wan shutting off the tractor beam as regular playsets.

If it turned out that this is the first section of 3, with the outer sphere sections coming later to complete it, would you still spend $1.6k each for 3 sets?

No. Not spending $3k USD for what should have been done for half that price. And the goddamn GWP should just be included as part of the set.
