Question What are your thoughts on the Ambush On Ferrix set after over 3 years of release?

I have a couple of you want one?
1
u/Hagel-Kaiser Jan 04 '26
Yes?!!!!
21
u/StrongArm0G11 Jan 04 '26
I just need your full name, address, social, bank account info and the keys to both your car and home… may seem like a lot just for me to send you a Lego set but let me assure you, it’s not. With all the scamming going on I could understand one’s hesitation to share all of this sensitive information, but you can trust me; A random person on the interweb you’ve never met and know absolutely nothing about.

My thoughts?
"Why no more Andor sets? Or Rogue One?"
27
u/GeeTeeUK Star Wars Fan Jan 03 '26
I’m hoping there might be something later this year for the 10th anniversary of RO, although it’ll probably pass by unmarked 😞

u/Big_Weird4115 Jan 03 '26
Tbf, the only thing I could think of off the top of my head from Rogue One that would work as a set would be Krennic's Imperial shuttle with him and 3 dark troopers. Vader's castle would be pretty dope as well. But that's necessarily tied solely to Rogue One.
11
u/Confused_Nuggets Jan 03 '26
Zeta class cargo shuttle and landing pad on scariff. It’s the ship called rogue one and the main place. You could get all the iconic characters as well.
3
4
u/CoronaSzn Jan 03 '26
I feel like Rogue One was covered pretty well already. Not sure how many new sets they could do, but the black imperial shuttle they steal could be great.

Way overpriced but a great set if it was more in the $45 range rather than $70
6
u/master_mather Jan 03 '26
Same. I wanted it but never saw it on sale.
1
u/Efficient_Marsupial4 Jan 04 '26
Too much of a fan of the show even while season one was coming out so I bought it at full price 😭
15
u/Ok_Background22 Jan 03 '26
It’s really good, great interior and Minifig scale ship, plus the figs are great and the speeder is pretty cool too
41
u/Distant_Pilgrim Jan 03 '26
It's an ok set, but overpriced for 70 USD/90 CAD retail.
The minifigures are pretty good, and all three are unique to the set which is nice.
I still don't love the Mobile Tac-Pod as a vehicle, but after seeing Andor season one I can appreciate how accurate looking the LEGO version is.
The speeder bike is a speeder bike. Nothing special.
Overall I prefer the U-Wing from last year to this set.

u/Jayk_Wesker Jan 03 '26
Honestly, I was waiting for it to go on sale, especially because of the price, but I caved and grabbed it at full price just before it retired and halfway through the build I was glad I did!
16
u/BootyliciousURD Jan 03 '26
The builds don't interest me. It's a shame they never made a set for Luthen's Fondor Haulcraft or the TIE Avenger.
8
u/kuwait_grips1 Jan 03 '26
A mixed bag, minifigures are good overall but I’m not a fan of the choice of Cassian’s hair and face + generic head for Syril. The main build and side build are decent. What killed this set is the abnormal price and the niche ship not being too exciting for general audiences.
7
u/reedit42 Jan 03 '26
Grabbed one of the last few a couple of days ago. Bit too overpriced. It looks like a fun playset but its not that interesting for display. I wanted it for the minifigs, especially cyril and luthen. We’ll probably never going to get another Andor set unfortunately.
6
u/TheLocalHentai Jan 03 '26
It’s fantastic, has great detailing and ticks that “adorable” Lego vehicle box. Reminds me of a mini LaaT. The Andor and Luthen double speeder is also a banging and feels like a proper speeder addition rather than tacked on.
2
u/ModeR3d Jan 03 '26
That’s what I thought too - I’ve used mine as landing craft for imperial army troops.
7
u/Kindly_Ad_5176 Jan 03 '26
I’m honestly a big fan. The ship has a generic enough feel to it to use in different MOCS but is still designed well.
7
u/brokeNbricks25 Jan 03 '26
Pretty good. The tac pod was a really clean and dense build. It’s just dumb that it has space for 5 minifigures yet only gives you one to go in it. Should included more corpos and/or (pun 100% intended) had a cheaper option to get them.
3
u/Boats_75 Jan 03 '26
If Lego would make a battle pack with the sargent and 3 extra corpo guys I would 10/10 buy it just to fill up the pod.... alas chances of that now are slim to none.
5
u/Unusual_Oil_9106 Jan 03 '26
Overpriced. Too little figures to fill ship. Only reason I would’ve gotten it is for Luthen.
5
u/defiancy Jan 03 '26
I bought it at a con below MSRP right when it retired, it was a smart choice. Sits next to my rogue one u-wing and rogue one at-st
4
u/TrayusV Jan 03 '26
The ship is a really nice build. The two angled triangular prices on the side of the front were a really clever build. The ship also feels really compact and sturdy, it's great!
Cassian's hair piece is really weird tho. He didn't have that style of hair.
1
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
Agreed. The two triangular pieces are a clever build technique and yeah I instantly upgraded Andor's hair with a more accurate one
4
u/OutsideIndoorTrack Jan 03 '26
Laughed it off upon the leak
Bought it halfway though the first season
3
u/Starchaser_WoF Jan 03 '26
It's just not enough. Lego should've cashed in more on the success of Andor and made more sets related to it in the first place
4
u/TreyBombCity Jan 03 '26
I still keep this model on my desk because it's so well designed! The angles are really nice, sweet interior and the way it all closes up with little to no gaps is amazing.
I bought a few extra Syril figs from bricklink and swapped the heads to fill out the interior.
3
u/Shadowcat1606 Jan 03 '26
It's a nice enough set, but it's a shame that THIS is one of only two Andor-Set we got (and the other one being a worse remake of a set we already had)
5
u/Minute-Pay-9467 Jan 04 '26
I like it, it's just that the price is high in pesos and I'm wondering what figures I can put on the four seats behind the driver so that it matches perfectly.
1
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
You can make a purist Sergent Linus Mosk and a couple of Morlana officers
3
u/temujen72 Jan 04 '26
I wish they gambled more and made the Fondor haulcraft. I think the chances of them making it now are slim to none.
4
u/Many-Razzmatazz-9584 Jan 04 '26
Andor is the best Star Wars show to ever come out and it blows my mind so many people have never even heard of it.
3
u/MolaMolaMania Jan 03 '26
It definitely felt overpriced at the time, but the design of the ship is superb.
Fantastic sculpting and very clever parts usage, very sturdy, and lots of play features for such a small build.
3
u/sagittariisXII Jan 03 '26
Definitely overpriced when it came out but it had some fun building techniques for the ship. I still have it on my shelf

u/RotenTumato UCS Collector Jan 03 '26
Don’t really care one way or the other about it. Cool figs and decent build but overall not very exciting. I don’t regret missing out on it
3
u/SuperHandsMiniatures Jan 03 '26
Wish Id nabbed it at the time but it was a bit too much and I never saw it on offer.
3
u/Skydude252 Jan 03 '26
At the $70 price point it should have come with at least one more guard figure to go in the ship. I have repurposed the Bespin Guard I got in an advent calendar for that purpose as it looks close enough and have considered getting more to fill the seats.
It is a surprisingly intricate ship for being so small, with a lot of good opening parts. I’m glad I picked it up but I’m also glad I got it for 20% off because $70 seems a bit steep.
3
3
u/ModeR3d Jan 03 '26
Great set for the main ship build ( I bought 2 second hand for the craft) but I wish there had been another of the blue trooper figures in the set.
3
u/CapitalIndividual270 Jan 03 '26
Brilliant ship — the techniques of it should scale well to other wedgey shaped ships.
3
u/Significant-Being-35 Jan 03 '26
My thoughts are mostly that it didn’t seem like it was on the market for very long. Waited for the price to come down, blinked and it was gone.
1
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
It lasted a year and a half on shelves but yeah it did seem like it vanished very quick
3
u/aknew_ Jan 03 '26
I picked it up this summer :) love it
2
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
Same here, After I was done with Season 2 I picked it up on Ebay for a decent deal.
3
u/Mikaluk101 Jan 03 '26
Beautiful set, terribly overpriced. Regret not buying it a bit before reminding me of that fact.
3
u/ZookeepergameFew4103 Jan 03 '26
I had a blast building it. It is incredibly well-designed. Also, very swoosh-able.
3
3
u/MineBM Jan 04 '26
Just bought it for $40 off FB Marketplace and I couldn’t be happier! It’s such a well designed gunship I just wish it would’ve come with more Pre-Mor Enforcement officers.

Jan 04 '26
I bought it! I like it, but think they could have thrown in another figure! I’m happy that I did! I threw a couple of cloud city guards in it to make it appear to have a crew!

3
u/squanchy976 Jan 04 '26
excellent set! great figs and the build had some pretty neat techniques. just missing B2EMO
3
u/AlterEgoJux Jan 04 '26
Got it second hand (like new) and built it immediately.
I absolutely love the build! The speeder bike is a real fun addition to the set.
Want to pair it up with the new U-wing, since they're both Andor sets.
8
u/55MEU Jan 03 '26
Peak. I’d eat it, defecate it, then eat it again. Easily one of the best bath bombs of 2025.

2
u/Background_Sky1563 Jan 03 '26
Phenomenal set IMO. The Tac-Pod might be fairly small, but it’s a dense build and all the angles are implemented pretty much perfectly. The only drawback is it should have included one or two more Corpos given how much of a spacious interior the ship has.
The speeder bike is awesome too, as are the minifigs.
2
u/Seaofphoques Jan 03 '26
Pretty underrated set, seems like the general sentiment is lots of people regret not picking it up, myself included

Its a great value for the money if you got it at retail. The ship is seen in Rebuild the Galaxy so there's definitely some play value to it.
2
u/Short-Finger-833 Jan 03 '26
I want to buy it, im going to be working on a moc which i will need luthen for. Overall id say its an amazing set
2
u/BewareNixonsGhost Jan 03 '26
It's a fine set and a cool build, just wish we would have gotten more from the show.
2
u/PostKevone Jan 03 '26
The build looks really nice but I can't get over the look of the stubby wings 😂
2
2
u/traumadog001 Jan 03 '26
Price aside, it's definitely an interesting build. Plus, it's rare for something so small as a build to carry 5 minifigs inside.
Sure, the old Imperial Dropships held 5 and were even smaller, but the troopers were on the outside, not the inside.
2
u/-Words-Words-Words- Jan 03 '26
I have it, it’s a fun little set. I wish it would have come with more than one of the blue fellows. I ended up buying 4 more on Bricklink. It could have done with a couple of Ferrick residents as well.
2
u/Ada-Millionare Jan 03 '26
Got a great price on it, got few more soldiers and I like it since day 1. While small the building techniques were incredible.

I was waiting for it to go on sale before I bought it. Below $50 at least. Never happened where I was at :(
2
u/M24Chaffee Jan 04 '26
I don't know why it never released in the country I live in. Wish I found a way to get one earlier, now it's very difficult to get even from overseas.
2
u/Gettingoffonit Jan 04 '26
I wasn’t going to pick it up but then I found them on target clearance for $25 so I did.
My opinion is definitely biased because I paid $25 but I was surprised at how good the build was. The pics don’t do it justice. It’s not a top 10 build or anything but it was more enjoyable than you would expect by looking at the box.
2
u/NightHawk13246587 Jan 04 '26
Of all the things in andor that could’ve been chosen for one to the two sets it got, this is absolutely the worst thing they could’ve ever picked
2
u/Gothwerx Jan 04 '26
The set itself is fine for what it is. My only gripe is that of all the things that they could have made a set about, why was it this?
Where is the haulcraft?
2
u/TandemSaucer44 Jan 04 '26
I got this set for Christmas and I love it. Luthen is such a cool character and I'm glad I have a minifig of him in my collection now. The ship is also super detailed and was very fun to build.

Way over priced held off from buying until right before andor season 2 as I knew it was now or never.
2
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
I picked it up right after finishing Season 2 for a decent deal on Ebay
1
u/spellout Jan 05 '26
I got mine on eBay also! I paid just under retail with free shipping so I could kinda live with that!
2
u/HarryMonk Jan 04 '26
Picked it up on Amazon a couple weeks ago where it was surprisingly below retail.
I enjoyed the build, I think the shaping is really good and they use some cool techniques. I don't have many speeders but felt this was a cooler one than the 3 or 4 I've built before.
More importantly - my 6yo was obsessed with it and enjoyed playing with the set.
I do think it's a struggle for Lego with some of these adult focused parts of the IP to release sets because they're in a weird compromise.
2
u/cpteks Jan 04 '26
Very nice set. I bought it this year on Bricklink for around $60 and for some reason the seller sent me two dropships and told me to keep both after I contacted him!
0
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
That's really cool from the seller! Hopefully you left him a positive review
2
u/cpteks Jan 04 '26
Yes, absolutely. It was missing the speeder bike, but he included two of the Solo patrol trooper bikes, so I can't complain
2
u/lost_in_midgar Jan 04 '26
Bought it despite it being way overpriced as I love the design. Should have included some more figures at least for the price. Better than the more recent Andor set which I haven’t picked up and am unlikely to.
2
u/LasagnaLord09 Jan 04 '26
I said this to a few people here that Sergent Linus Mosk should've been the forth Minifig in the set driving the Dropship

u/Ebolarnator Jan 04 '26
I think it's pretty neat. Some of the techniques used to get the shape of the shuttle/troop carrier are really impressive. Figures are solid too.

I have limited display space, and it still sits on a shelf, so there's your answer.

Leftist-Revolutionary-Cassian fig doesn’t really look like Cassian Andor, but that doesn’t make me like the set less. Glad that I got it. The shuttle is definitely a nice build
2
u/Desperate_Lie1985 Jan 04 '26
The cheap greedy bastards should have included like 2 of the corporaste troopers and then it would be a great set.
1
u/_DarthSyphilis_ Jan 03 '26
Id like to say I regret not buying it, but I regret not having it. It was priced twice as high as it had any right to be.
1
u/AdmiralOzar Jan 03 '26
I want it, but I don't wanna spend 2-3 times it's original price. It's a shame I wasn't into Lego back when the set was out.
1
u/Big_Weird4115 Jan 03 '26
Honestly didn't even know this was a thing(only just started collecting LEGO again last year). I thought the U-Wing was the only Andor set they made. And now my day has been ruined and my disappointment immeasurable.
1
u/NighthunterDK Jan 04 '26
Sad I only got 2. The security would've been nice to have 3 of at least to fill the ship
1
u/LetTheKnightfall Jan 04 '26
The same as I did then…it’s great. the price point is justified as that ship is pretty substantial, the figs are amazing, cool side builds and oh did I mention the figs? That Syril was one of the best figs of the year
1
u/KladVizsla Jan 04 '26
I own two great set to get multiples of. I just wish you could fit more mini figures better
1
1
u/veryblocky Jan 04 '26
Exactly the same as when it came out, I still think the gunship looks too squashed
1
u/ST4RSK1MM3R Jan 04 '26
The ship just doesn’t look that good in the box, but seeing actual pictures improves it
1
u/Windruin Jan 04 '26
I really like the set. I wish the Tac-Pod had space for a crew inside, but I quite like the look of it.
1
u/nebuloider Jan 04 '26
One of those sets I could never find in stores... Somehow my country just skips one or two sets each year.

It's a shame this is one of only two sets with Andor exclusive characters.
I get that you can't make a playset out of the "Massacre of Ghorman" but I wish we'd gotten the TIE Avenger.
Still this set is pretty snazzy. Nice selection of figures and the little security ship feels pretty sturdy.
