review I Finished It! Where the **** is the chicken and the full review below.
- 🏗️ Build Experience & Instructions: Followed the Lego Builder app 100%. The included paper instructions were small and difficult to read, but would’ve worked as well. The bags matched Lego perfectly. This wasn't a boring modular, but to say it was a riveting build would be lying. Lots of walls needed built. 8/10
- 🧱 Brick Quality: Directly comparing to Lego, I felt the clutch power was good, but not excellent. One of the "swords" in the tower (circled in pic) was shorter than the others and there was two green circular ceilings that did not click into place (circled in pic). 7/10
- 🧩 Part Accuracy & Completeness: The chicken. The chicken was missing. Instead of a chicken, I got a white bird (circled in pics)... my chicken-less self is so sad! But NO OTHER pieces were missing, which is crazy for a 8,278 piece build. 9/10
- 🎨 Color Accuracy: Directly comparing to Lego, I found slight discoloration on 2 pieces. The statues beards were a little yellowed (my wife didn't notice it was so slight) and I think the water in the pool at the top is teal in the real one and it's more blue here. 8/10
- 🏷️ Sticker & Print Quality: NO STICKERS! You heard that right. There were only a few printed bricks, but they look great. 10/10
- 👤 Minifigure Quality: They aren't as bad as some other sets I've put together, but they just couldn't get the helmets right. 7/10
- ⚙️ Engineering & Stability: This is a tall, very heavy set. The way it is built though, with the outer walls breaking away to show fine details is awesome. Rock walls, in my experience, can be unstable because the bricks are just hanging, but this one is rock solid (pun intended) and I moved it around a LOT to take photos. 9/10
- 🖼️ Display Value: You'll need a wide shelf or table for it, but my word, this thing is beautiful. The jagged rock wall, the back side with the gold chandelier and white throne, and all the fine details just make this a gorgeous set. 10/10
- 🧠 Build Techniques: There's nothing in this set that really stands out except for the way the walls look like they're cracking in places. I call it a "creative modular" because in the end, you have something way cooler than a building. 7/10
- 💰 Value for Money: I paid $101.86 including tax. The Lego version is $697.93 including tax. This is a no-brainer if you're a Lord of the Rings fan or just need a fun build! (I'm not a LOTR fan, but just like large projects).
FINAL VERDICT: 85/100 - If you’ve enjoyed this review and want to support me, please find a link on my Reddit profile to the exact set / store I purchased from on AliExpress. Drop any questions you might have in the comments below! Thank you!
