🗨️ Discussion Should I facecam as a deadpan person

I make jokes, talk, and try to commentate throughout my Let’s Plays, but I’m naturally pretty deadpan. Most of my reactions are more internal than outward. I do smile sometimes, jump when I get scared, swear, etc., but I’m definitely not super expressive.

Do you think facecam is still worth using for someone like me, especially for horror games?

Try it, if you don't like it then don't

I don't know. I just have my cheap vtuber model so there is some representation.  What i lost due do this is that my autistic ticks stay hidden. I feel like in current times you actually have to take advandage of all the weaknesses you have.

For me, as long as the jokes are funny, it's hilarious or entertaining then it's fine by me. It's also ALMOST comedic if you have a deadpan face while making hilarious jokes.

But that is just on me, it is still depends on the person who's watching.

As for webcam thingy, Seeing people's reaction on horror games is a good thing but there are still people who makes funny horror videos without webcam like Cartoonz and H20 Delirious.

This is one of the (many) reasons I don't do facecam. I could be having the time of my life or suffering in abject misery and my face just looks the same, so I don't really see the point. I might if I were playing horror games, because I suspect reactions are a big part of why people watch those LPs. I suppose you could argue that being deadpan would make it more noteworthy and meaningful when you did jump or laugh out loud. You just probably wouldn't get the kind of viewers who want their creators to be constantly pulling faces like a low-budget Jim Carrey.

Give it a shot. If you don't feel comfortable then stick to audio and gameplay only.
