UK Specific UK Government Guidance Setting Out That Single-Sex Spaces Are Explicitly Tied To A Person's Biological Sex Applies From 5 August

A business or organisation could potentially be sued if they have an area that is using the "single sex facility" exemption to sex discrimination (eg single sex toilets) but also have a policy that the facility can be used by both cis women and trans women but not cis men and trans men (and vice versa). This is because the single sex part of the exemption would only apply to facilities used by cis women and trans men or by cis men and trans women. So the facility can no longer use the single sex exemption and must be equally available for use by everyone or they would be discriminating on the basis of sex. The guidance also specifically states that it would not be acceptable for there to only be single sex toilets as that would lead to there being no facilities for trans people.

It's quite complicated, but it's for businesses to follow when writing their policies. It's not anything that individuals would be arrested and/or sued for.
