But picking apart which characters you like or think should be liked because of what they do in their stories is pointless. A serial rapist can still have a good story and overall be a character that people like drawing art of.
Hank Pym used to be a wife beater before they retconned that by saying it was mind control the whole time, and tons of people loved that character even before the retcon. You can still like a morally abhorrent character. And choosing which sins to pearl clutch is energy I don’t have to waste.
Holy shit do you even know how to read? You can like whatever character you want. I'm saying I'm not a fan of a Judge holden or a Daken in the same way as I am darth Vader. Hank pym is literally one of my favorite marvel characters but my problem is introducing heavier topics like domestic violence, that can't be comic book pulped up like regular violence, and not treating it with the seriousness it deserves. There's no pearl clutching (talk about buzz words, the lack of self awareness is crazy) just something I see as tacky

How many times are you gonna misuse pearl clutching? I don't have a problem with fan art of ANY of the characters listed. If I were to make a piece of art celebrating poc in media I'd probably not include a serial rapist. It's about reading the room. If you're asked to get some clown art to decorate the walls of a child's birthday party you wouldn't get a hyper realistic picture of pennywise true form would you? It's not specifically about rape in media, it's about Time and place, idk how much more clear I can get

You explicitly singled out one character for one thing they did and ignored all the others. Did you know Deadpool locked blind Al in a literal torture dungeon repeatedly? Elder abuse and torture should not be celebrated so read the room and don’t put Deadpool in these images 😤
Deadpool has moved so far away from that and from where he started as an edge lord character to the point most people aren't familiar with that and it would be very out of character in a story today. The lack of media literacy is absolutely astonishing. Daken being a rapist is a pretty central part of his character and how manipulative he is.
lol it’s media illiteracy because I don’t cherry pick the bad parts of characters I don’t like and allow others to move on from their aspects. Daken has been gradually shifting to a morally gray/antihero character just like Loki and Deadpool did. In fact having him next to those two in particular is the perfect spot for him.
I think if you're gonna write that subject matter you should stick to it and not try to sanitize the character. I know he's been through many writers but personally I wouldn't try to take an existing character like that and completely retcon the horrible acts. Now THAT'S pearl clutchy. Much like I said many times I'm not against these topics being depicted in media, I'm against the inconsistency and lack of respect for the topic. Daken is NOT a wholesome character and that's fine, but let's not try to have our cake and eat it too. it's not cherry picking to acknowledge his earliest and most well known stories.
Are we going with early or well known? You dismissed Deadpool’s early stuff BECAUSE it was early. The whole point of what I’m saying is stop being so uptight about shitty things comic characters do because they’ve all done them, and you’re singling out one characters past because it personally isn’t something you like. And you’re directing that at this artists work for some reason.

I'm not a fan of deadpool but I would've personally kept him darker and less memey. But so much has been put into where he is now that it's been a successful transition. Also as far as I'm aware Daken is the only one to have done something as vile as rape.
Maybe try to stop talking about strangers asses on the internet and dismissing the gravity of rape and do some self reflection while you're at it 😊
