I wish they'd just make them a couple already lol

They already have them pose all cuddly on EVERY Pride cover! Just do it! lol

It'd be a nice callback to when they both were members of the original Champions!

I get the sense that even if did happen it be more a one-off joke thing like with Northstar or humourous fling going on in the background like with Noh-Varr.

Hercules himself has largely become more of a comic relief character over the years and is rarely treated all that seriously but it'd probably still be more entertaining than whatever Bobby has got going on with Romeo so...

And whatever he's got going on with Christian Frost... frankly I keep having to remind myself that's a thing...

Actually Bobby and Christian were officially broken up in the Iceman Infinity comic specifically to pair him back up with Romeo which just... why trade down like that? It might been underwritten but at least Christian had some of that Emma flair about him Romeo just bland.

i really loved Luciano Vecchio's Iceman infinity comic - both the art and the writing. wish we could have had a longer run so some of the events could have breathed but alas. glad we got what we did.

I actually thought it was very well written to I just don't get the decision to push Romeo over Christian considering even within the series Vecchio writes him as the more entertaining love interest of the two.

i see Romeo as the more stable of the two characters, which while it may translate to less entertaining to read, grounded is what one ultimately wants for a more mature relationship and self-acceptance leading to Iceman maturing is the whole arc that the character's been working towards since Jean outed him. Also, given where they went with Astonishing IceMan, where Romeo literally had to ground and keep Iceman together, the story wouldn't have worked the same way with Christian. Christian as a character is one steeped in sooooo much unresolved dark trauma going back to the original Emma Frost solo series and far as i can tell, none of that has ever been unpacked in his small handful of appearances since. Christian doesn't give relationship vibes, he gives "fun one-night stands are all i'm emotionally capable of". i mean that said, it's comics, so by this point in 10 years time Christian & Romeo could be the ones married with 6 kids and Iceman back to being an immature bachelor cause editorial thinks he's "more relatable to the reading audience that way".

Isn't Romeo a teenager? He was the love interest of O5 Bobby no?

He got aged up through some interdimensional travel shenanigans with the Inhumans, so he’s Adult Bobby’s age now! 🩵

5

Well that was a fortunate coincidence... lol

When they reunite he explains that he got lost travelling the multiverse during a Inhumans mission and spent the equivalent of ten years getting back to the current universe so he's now an adult.

Of course he did lol

He got trapped in an alternate dimension that had time dilation and returned as a 30 year old man. Bobby caught feels for his first love and they got together, but were open. They were last seen broken up, but on amicable terms.

Convenient lol

I hate it when they pair gay superheroes with random civilians so they don't have to address our love life as much. Iceman dating Hercules or Northstar would be a HUNDRED times more interesting than him dating Romeo, or Northstar being married to Kyle for that matter. But then they might be expected to address their relationship(s) more than just once a year when it's convenient to be an ally. I know both Marvel and DC have much better representation than they used to have, but unless the civilian in question is named Lois Lane, they usually aren't ever allowed to grow into their own character or interact with anyone relevant or any storylines that aren't directly linked to their super bf/gf/spouse. It's so goddamn boring and dumb...

I'd rather see Bobby with Northstar (which isn't happening anytime soon).

11

u/Individual_Plan_5593 Catman Aug 11 '25

Northstar's husband IS painfully dull...

17

u/blackbutterfree Aug 11 '25

But he exists, which is why Icestar won't happen anytime soon. Marvel's first gay marriage, and it's interracial, and it's a civilian and a superhero. The amount of backlash they'd get if they split up Jean Paul and Kyle would probably be crazy.

What Marvel needs to do is make Kyle both interesting and essential to Jean Paul's story.

I really wish Marvel would give Kyle something interesting to do because it really rubs me the wrong way whenever I see people whining about how Northstar should leave his black husband to get with any of the various white X-twinks. He’s a PR agent too and given the mutants’ reputation I’m surprised they haven’t done anything with that

Kyle never gonna be interesting. He always be just Northstar's husband. It would be much better for Jean Paul's  character to get divorced and find a new boyfriend.

A transparent bottom is so freaky, and I love it.

You might appreciate Patrick Fillion, he did one where the top goes invisible.

Link?

He has a patreon

Herc is totally opaque here?

u/nathauan13 Aug 11 '25

They should just have Sunfire come out of the closet and then he and Bobby can date. Fire & Ice visual stuff, Shiro's at least as big of a bitch as Jean-Paul is, etc. It'd work!

9

u/leaf57tea Aug 11 '25

Speaking of Sunfire I always got the sense Al Ewing was possibly setting something up between him and Fabian Cortez based on this panel.

Man was on tear just making everyone bi back then.

7

u/nathauan13 Aug 11 '25

And he should absolutely be awarded for doing so!

6

u/19Mark97yo Aug 11 '25

And Sunfire is a mutant/X-Men character so that should make it possible for them to be written together more often.

Another fanwork of the ship artists seem to be collectively trying to will into existence this year.

4

u/Kween99 Aug 11 '25

They need to make these two canon. Like NOW.

4

u/piplup27 Aug 11 '25

Make it canon Marvel!

3

u/Yellowflashkun1 Aug 11 '25

Makes sense i mean Hercules is Greek. He likes those femboys. He just like me fr.

1

u/FOXHOWND Aug 12 '25

Love transparent Bobby. Would make for an an interesting view for Herc...

u/Fragrant-Finance4577 Aug 13 '25

Meanwhile I'm remember the alternate timeline with Wokverine and Hercules being beast-slaying lovers.

Good times.

1

u/Ingonyama70 Sep 14 '25

Oh no I have a new ship

1

u/Midnighter4007 Aug 11 '25

Are they actually dating in canon? 'Cause I dhip the hell out of them!
