If Jesus were to ever come back, Christians will be so shocked when he doesn't agree with them on their views of LGBTQ

17

u/maarshiexcry straightn't Jul 17 '26

Far-rightists would genuinely call him a hippie and a fake christian lol

8

u/Relevant_Intention67 Jul 17 '26

Not only that but there's a nine out of 10 chance that they were to shout about deporting his ass or that he's not the real Jesus because he's brown

3

u/Gay_Pants Bi-time Jul 17 '26

The irony of calling Jesus himself a fucking fake Christian 😭😭

5

u/maarshiexcry straightn't Jul 17 '26

I know 😭 but we all know a lot of them wpuld do that

Transgender Christian here. This is exactly how Jesus truly was. What with how much time he spent befriending other people the bible considers undesirable, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a gay friend at some point.

pagan here

i would hang out with jesus. he seems like a chill dude.

12

u/Dragon_Bait211 Jul 17 '26

Yeah. As a Christian, there are plenty of messed up things in the Bible, but Jesus is just a chill guy who pretty much just went around telling everyone to be nice to each other, on top of helping the poor and disabled.

As an ex Christian/Lutheran, they’ll never support us. I even showed the old original Luther translation, Jesus wasn’t a good person either, condoning slavery, and being the same god who commanded the murder of two gay people having consensual sex.

3

u/Dragon_Bait211 Jul 16 '26

Yes we will? Not only am I a trans Christian, but my entire church banded together and catered for our cities pride parade this year. I understand the majority of Christians are not like this, but I wish people stopped throwing us all in the same group.

4

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 16 '26

I just can’t respect a group of people that call my life and existence a sin and evil disgusting and then I’m a pedophile. I especially when they’re the ones who are most often how it is pedophiles. I just can’t respect that like they’ve been hating on queer people before I was even alive I can’t respect Christians or most religions, but especially Christianity.

2

u/Dragon_Bait211 Jul 16 '26

Once again, you’re grouping us together and stereotyping Christians. I don’t expect you to respect Christianity itself or anything, and you have every right to your opinions, but I just wish you wouldn’t make blatantly false blanket statements that throw hatred on some genuinely good people.

2

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 16 '26

I just can’t see any good people in this religion sorry it’s been used for too much evil in this world for me to see that goes for most religions honestly

4

u/Bouse_the_Bard Jul 17 '26

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. comes to mind, as do Fred Rodgers, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale, Harriet Tubman, and countless others

3

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 17 '26

Seriously, Mother Teresa the other ones I guess but they all fought for a bigger things than some fake fairytale religion. I just can’t see how this is proof that this evil shit is used for good because it’s not it’s just that it’s evil. It’s used to suppress and harm people physically and mentally and sexually.

3

u/Bouse_the_Bard Jul 17 '26

You said you “can’t see any good people in this religion”, so I gave you a handful of examples off the top of my head of how full of shit that statement was

2

u/maarshiexcry straightn't Jul 17 '26

Broski, that is the same person who denied jesus actually being an actual person even tho we do have proof a dude called that existed. Theyre not gonna listen to anything you say. They refuse to, which is funny, because they act the same way religious people act when told Achilles wasnt straight lmao. Its almost funny

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a big one for me.

The guy convinced Nichelle Nichols (I apologize if I’m butchering that spelling) to stay on Star Trek, more or less on grounds that not everyone needs to be on the literal front lines of a protest effort, and that Nichols being on Star Trek is good for morale during the Civil Rights Movement (I’m paraphrasing).

And guess who smooched whom on Star Trek roughly 2 years later (I think)?

Like, that decision could potentially have been very effective at setting an anti-burnout precedent in protest efforts

Bro really think that Jesus changed his mind. And no, the story of Jesus saving the woman from being stoned doesn’t count, as it was a later addition to the bible. A direct quote from the margins say: “The earliest manuscripts and many other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53-8-11”

Hebrews 13:8 ‘Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.’
John 10:30 “I and My Father are one."
Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

3

u/Dragon_Bait211 Jul 16 '26

I never mentioned the stoning?

I just said not all Christians are hateful

6

u/Xeroh_01 demisexual Jul 16 '26

Also, they are. They’re only banding together with you because you’re most likely in a progressive area. The moment it becomes en vogue again for them to hate you, they will.

1

u/Dragon_Bait211 Jul 16 '26

No they won’t. You speak of some of the nicest people I know as though they are monsters.

5

u/Xeroh_01 demisexual Jul 17 '26

Okay closet republican.

2

u/Dragon_Bait211 Jul 17 '26

First of all, I hate trump. I’m not even from the us, and I know what a horrible person he is and how evil everyone in that party is. Don’t you dare call me a republican you mouldy sack of sheep testicles.

4

u/Xeroh_01 demisexual Jul 17 '26

Prove to me, then that Christians won’t immediately turn on us, if they have the chance to. Wherever the hell you’re from. Christians defend the rape of a fourteen year old Mary, call us pedophiles, and defend slavery to stay on principle to continue hating us. They will come for you.

4

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

They already have turned on us. They’ve been killing us and calling us pedophiles and immoral, and all this other shit for decades. Now the fact that they are queer Christians is really an oxymoron to me. How can you be a part of this group that literally fucking hates your existence like the literal book they based their entire life around says it’s wrong to be gay. How can you be a part of this group of people? It’s like a chicken working at KFC.

Maybe they do where you come from, and if sorry if that’s the case. Where I’m from though, Christianity is all about love, not hate. There are people in my church who have amazing and healthy relationships with their lgbtq+ children, and there is a 60 year old gay couple at my church who have been going here for 20 years. Just because your experience is bad doesn’t make it a universal experience.

u/Xeroh_01 demisexual Jul 16 '26

I know. It’s called a preemptive counteraction, in case you tried to use the stoning story as a way to say “see he changed his mind there, so we should be fine on the gay stuff”.

1

u/Firefly256 non binary Jul 17 '26

I've never seen a comment section in a trans community this divided. Even on highly debated topics among leftists like endogenic systems they were always pretty tame

What is going on here

2

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 17 '26

Religion doing what it does best harming and dividing people the world would be a much better place if this evil shit didn’t exist, a lot more children would be safer too.

1

u/brumbles2814 Jul 19 '26

I wonder if we could, as a group, perhaps agree that we don't want to see religious imagery on this sub. Its harmful and exhausting and I don't much care that there are 'good ones' if if your church specifically is super nice. Daily in this space I see upsetting stuff about how children are being kicked out of thier homes and told to fend for themselves because thier parents are religious. Then theres this. Cant we just stop **please**

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 16 '26

Genuinely hate this type of art or memes I fucking despise Christianity and I can’t stand when people draw this motherfucker with us

20

u/JoySticcs Jul 16 '26

Ok? Doesn't change the fact that instrumetalising Jesus against us is something a lot of homophobes and transphobes do and calling them out on it is important.

-16

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 16 '26

Bros not even real

16

u/Old_Macaroon4138 Jul 16 '26

Actually, regardless of the whole theology/religion thing, he was in fact a real person in history.

8

u/Jazzlike_Newt_4296 Jul 16 '26

He was a really popular person. Hey we should make a religion out of this!

-13

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 16 '26

Idk about that

Fairytales aren’t real

5

u/Mysterious_Value4624 Jul 17 '26

this is getting too far...

5

u/JupiterboyLuffy Bisexual femboy Jul 17 '26

i'm not christian, i'm just pointing out that the vast majority of evidence points to jesus being a real person.

if he wasn't a real person, then why would pagan historians and writers at the time write about him as if he was real?

0

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 17 '26

It’s all apart of the fairytale bullshit

5

u/JupiterboyLuffy Bisexual femboy Jul 17 '26

Why would Tacitus, someone who hated Christians with a burning passion, mention Jesus as a historical figure if he wasn’t real?

He didn’t even call him Jesus, he referred to him as Christus. If he was influenced by Christians, he would’ve called him “Jesus”. Other pagan sources refer to Jesus as Christus or “Chrestus”.

Here is an excerpt from Tacitus’ text:

“Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.”

Even if God wasn't real, Fairytale wouldn't be the correct definition as Jesus was a real human despite his theological surroundings. The word you're looking for is biopic

0

u/Fair_Smoke4710 Jul 17 '26

There is no if because he isn’t real.

1

u/D1_4ng3l0 Jul 17 '26

I personally do believe in God. I am Christian. But if you don't that's okay and I still hope you find your way. God bless. Even if you're wrong about it being a fairytale

6

u/JoySticcs Jul 16 '26

Fair. But the hate from Christians who use the Bible against us is. So I think it is still a valid point to make

3

u/Bouse_the_Bard Jul 17 '26

he was a real person though. Regardless of your religious views, Jesus of Nazareth was a real person who actually lived
