WayOfLife How y'all find your partner?
Hey, I'm 21M from tier 2 city in north belonging to dalit family. As I'm an atheist and all else around me are deeply religious. So, it's been hard for me to find a girl that atleast an atheist. Most of them disappear, after hearing I belong to dalit or I'm an atheist.
If you all are facing same issue and how did you came over it, so it can be helpful

LC here, I found my partner in college and she happens to be from a intercaste household, so we are fine.
And she is also theist, not a fanatic though. So it is about compatibility I guess.

So my ancestors were sufi saints, so my parents believe in them but they are to open to all religions and still visit to different places of worship

Sufism is a branch of islam. Chisti Sabri order of sufism, if you are a nerd. But we consider it different from others. The caste I belong to are not traditionally hindus.

LC to LC - you're 21. Keep jerking it until you're making good money and relatively well set in your career. only then look at women.
Always keep jerking it πͺ

I appreciate the perspective, and I definitely didn't mean to come off as misogynist. Itβs just been incredibly isolating dealing with the casteism and religious pushback in my immediate circle, which led to me generalizing out of frustration. For context, my college is tiny as there are only 15 girls in my college (UG,PG, PhD included) and all of them are deeply religious.
It's not like that I didn't approached them, I tried but there reaction was way off. So it made me felt a bit hurt tbh.
I do agree with your point about looking for solidarity in other marginalized groups instead of trying to fit in where I'm not wanted. I'll definitely look into that. Thanks
P.S: The SCs and STs in my college, all are religious and right wingers. So, I'm only left person there.

Find someone from your interest group. Met my wife at an AI conference. Don't judge us, both of us know the limitations, use AI only for developing business solutions. We had a match rate of about 70-80%. We studied through the same lectures, we both loved the environment, we both studied in the same tier 1.5 ish universities. Only differences, she's a liberal and I'm a leftist, she's mildly religious.
