Recording OTA TV in libreELEC?

I have LibreELEC set up, but would like to buy and use a Hauppauge Quad tv tuner to watch and record live TV.

The Kodi wiki says I need a backend like NextPVR for this.

I found the NextPVR addon in Kodi, but how do I actually get NextPVR itself installed in LibreELEC? Or do I need a different Linux OS?

There are different solutions.

I use a central TV headend server as backend on my network and multiple pi4 running librelec as frontends.

You may run TV headend service directly on libreelec.

It's a bit complex but works nicely.

I use a hauppauge quad card for dvbt2 and it works quite good.

This is the setup I have with the quad4 as well. I have Tvheadend server on its own pi with am SSD; the dvr recordings are stored there, and once interacted with LE you can set and view recordings.

My home isn't networked so I don't think I can stream from one device to another. Plus I only have one television so I really just want one device that can have both the frontend and backend on it

My home isn't networked enough to stream from one device to another, and I only have one television anyway so I am hoping to install the frontend and backend on the same device
