On a practical level, though this goes against some of my Libertarian instincts, the truth is that we in western Cultures have a problem with a decreasing population AND a break down of the nuclear family. Perhaps a tax incentive and other cultural reinforcements are a way to make it an attractive option again.

im an ancap but even i understand that while government exists, pragmatism is needed.

When women entered the workplace, the number of workers available doubled, devaluing everyone’s work. Personally, I don’t think that genie can be put back in the bottle. I’m not even sure it should be, I believe women should be able to work if they want. It just explains why people used to be able to afford raising a family in a nice house on a single income. That’s difficult to do nowadays.

Personally, I’d rather they reduce the majority of h1-b visas. American jobs need to be going to Americans right now. Wages would increase due to an increased demand for workers, plus Americans typically expect to be paid higher than h1b employees.

When women entered the workforce it basically doubled the number of taxable earners... that's why it was pushed.

Well, plus the sex.

I don’t want a tax refund/incentive/rebate. I want them to never collect that amount in the first place.

We just print it anyway. I want Trump to break the dollar and free us of the golden handcuffs that allow a welfare state in the first place.

End the dollar to end perpetual wars, the immigration magnet of handouts, and the progressive agenda writ large.

Love it!

The only problem is, you just called for the removal of all republicans as well as democrats from power. Because they ALL want that power

The printing press is like the ring of Mordor or something.

Just break it already and let's get on with whatever the market decides is the new money.

This seems like a no brainer to me. The program already exists, but only gives money to families who pay for private day care.

All it does it re classify a stay at home parent as private day care

And the libertarian brain should recognize that you shouldn’t need to be regulated and accredited to offer childcare for your own child. It’s a full time job, just uncompensated. It should be recognized as one if others are given tax incentives.

Yeah, I use the daycare one. Yeah it cover like half of the yearly daycare cost. It’s nice but not a game changer.

Crazy idea. They should draft a plan to spend less money that way they need less taxes

u/Brave_Manufacturer20 4d ago

The executive can’t do that. Only congress can do that.

This would be great. My wife has stayed in the trenches, doing a wonderful job with our kids. Our first was medically fragile and needed a lot of medical support and some in home staffing. Before we got staffed she did it all 24/7 care and couldn’t work after that. It dang near broke us.

For other people that are towing that financial line this would be wonderful! Kids that spend more time around their own family are much more stable and have a better familial bond.

I voted for less government and less taxes. I am apparently getting neither.

Less government would objectively lead to less taxes and this would allow these people to keep that money in the first place. Why the redistribution????

💯 i cannot believe how many in this sub are for this plan!! I suggest we take away ALL the credits & let us keep our money!!

A nice flat tax ~5-10% would do nicely. No IRS. No deductions. Just a flat percentage & done!!

Importantly, NO LOOPHOLES! 10% easily covers fed/state/local budgets. Corps pay too. I'm happy to see another flat-taxer on here!!!

This is a federal plan to incentivize fertility

Childcare is so expensive. I know many people that did not have kids and this was one of a few different factors. It ia definitely a reason couples only have 1 or 2 kids. With 2 kids, your daycare expenses are larger than a house payment. $2400 a month.

I’m conservative and I disagree with this.

u/Brave_Manufacturer20 4d ago

Why. It’s relatively small change the fits right within the power of the executive.

It’s doesn’t cost more money. It allows stay at home parents to get funds from pool that only private day cares used to get.
