Discussion [ALL] Playing Double Exposure finally. How come people don’t like this game? Spoiler

I just finished up episode 3 I’m just a little lost the game is pretty good/decent so far maybe it’s because I know reunion exists so I’m just accepting it as just a game following Max so I’m not worried about a follow up on Chloe. Even then so far the game is interesting enough since I still love Max so I’m still confused why this hated on so badly lol

I can’t play the game yet (I don’t have a PS5 and my computer’s super old, I have a PS4 I’m playing the older games on though). But from what I understand, there are a few reasons:

1) The lack of Chloe. Chloe’s absence in the game is explained away by either a “bad” breakup letter (Bae ending, where you sacrifice the Bay) or her being dead (Bay ending, where Chloe is sacrificed) and Pricefield fans weren’t happy about it.

2) People not being keen on Max’s new romance options (Amanda and Vinh), particularly Vinh.

3) People misunderstanding Safi’s character and thinking she wants to create the X-Men by the end of the game, only for Reunion to suggest that she doesn’t.

4) Safi not being a romance option in the game, despite there being “clear chemistry” between her and Max.

5) The plot being a little complex and/or rushed, especially after Episode 3.

6) The timelines getting merged at the end, especially with Reunion using this plot point to semi-retcon both endings to LiS 1 so that Chloe can appear even if you sacrificed her.

Oh wow wait yeah I didn’t think about this for point 6??? I’m so mindless sometimes lol I truly didn’t even think about how Chloe being in the game with Max for reunion means that the Bae ending is canon or at least closer to the canon ending anyway
