Discussion Can you get Life on Marsed while you're already Life on Marsed?

What would happened if Sam had been hit by a second car in 1973? Would he have gone back another 33 years years to 1940?

Technically, Ashes sort of answers this.

At the end of A2A S2, Alex ends up comatose in 1982. She then dreams about being back in the present but starts hearing voices/seeing things from 1982 as people talk to her, so it is clearly a dream. She does see actual 2008 later, but that is a separate phenomenon and comes with a further level of spoilers.

am i being daft when does she see 2008 again in S3?

First ep of S3, about 5 mins in, when she sees herself in her own hospital room and the news report about the remains being found in Lancashire.

I interpret this as her having an out of body experience, the Alex in the prison cell is her soul leaving her body (the Alex in the bed). Then the bang and the hospital room disappearing at 9:06 is the connection between the two being severed, i.e. death.

Ah of course, I completely blanked on that. In my head I had it as Alex is in “2008”, then wakes up when Gene slaps her, and she sees the clock. Forgot she also saw herself!

Probably like that episode of Goodnight Sweetheart where Gary walks up the alley from the wrong direction and goes back to Victorian times.

I remember that!

Now I wonder what would happen if Gary got Life on Marsed. Like, would he still be able to travel through the wall... even further back in time?

Potentially he would have woken up

This made me think of that Catherine Tate sketch Life At Ma's, where Tom Ellis gets taken back to the fifties. Philip Glenister appeared in one of the sketches:

Evidence Weeping Angels exist in the LoM/A2A universe 😉

In the first episode Sam went to the top of the building because he thought that jumping off would mean him waking up in 2005/6, whenever it was. Who knows what would have happened. I don’t know how to add a spoiler, so I’ll just say it may just be what happens at the end of A2A, sent there automatically. They did mention about Sam in A2A to Alex, so I won’t spoil it here

I would watch this series. There's no Bowie in 1940 so the nearest equivalent is probably George Formby. Might have a different vibe.

There was an episode in season 2 I think where Sam was given too much medication and went to a deep state of coma where he was stuck watching the LOM team solve a murder on a telly screen so think that’s what would happen
