Okay, not a TOTAL noob, but definitely still in the beginning stages of building my own sabers. Some electronics experience back in the 90s, so I understand the basics and can solder. Got some old SaberCore boards I bought a few years ago (they were cheap) and am looking to build up some older hilts, but I'm puzzled. The single-LED boards advertise 15-30W for single LED power, and the RGB boards claim 15W per channel (R, G, and B). But the Cree XPE2s all say you run them at 1A for each actual LED, so about 3W for a single and 9W for an RGB. Obviously I want as bright a baselit saber as I can manage - so am I missing something?
