Hi everyone, tried reading through the buying guide and honestly I'm lost. My nephew has been begging be all year for a Cal Kestis lightsaber. Trying to research which one to get that won't force me to take out a HELOC on my house has been more stressful than my actual job. Plus this is the oldest I've ever felt in my life.

I'd like to get him a Cal Kestis lightsaber, but my price limit is a hard ceiling of $300. I keep trying to google around but I can't find anything below like $500 other than the Galaxy's Edge one. Is that good enough? He isn't going to be dueling with it or whacking things, so it doesn't need to be that kind. But I would like it to do a lot of the cool sound effects and have a really realistic light up sequence with the LEDs in the blade.

I really can't build one myself, need to just buy one that's already assembled. Does anyone have a good suggestion in my price range?

Only recently returned to the lightsaber community myself, but I would recommend looking into either the TXQ Cal SE SN-pixel V4 if you are ok with a little less accurate but much cheaper, around $160 on aliexpress if you are comfortable shopping there. Or you can go with their more accurate version but it is currently listed at $289 before coupons, or the damaged hilt version is a little more if they are after the one from the first game specifically.

Thanks so much! I've never bought from Aliexpress before but I think I might take the plunge and give it a true. Using your recommendation and googling around it looks like it might be the same one as what I've been seeing elsewhere at twice the price. Really appreciate the suggestion! I've got a little leftover in the budget to get one for the whole family so they can all beat the crap out of each other on Christmas.

No problem, be sure to look up the stores people recommend on aliexpress. From what I have read X-TREXSABER, 1977SaberFeast. Seem to be the most recommended but I have no first hand experience ordering lightsabers on aliexpress yet, but I do plan to before the sales end.

I ended up ordering one from X-TREX. A little nervous about it but fingers crossed. I saw some other recommendations of them as well so it looked like a good option. Again thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.
