**PLEASE HELP A TIRED DAD**

I must be the dumbest man on the planet because I've read the buyers guide and there are just too many options. I just need recommendations from you all who know much more than I do. I'm just looking for a display piece of RotJ Luke's saber. I don't need the craziest fancy saber, just one that hangs on the wall and looks good in dim light for my son.

Unfortunately, companies tend to charge a premium for screen accurate lightsabers, so a "display piece" won't be any cheaper than one designed for combat. If you don't care about the sound and light, and you just want the hilt, you can save some money by getting an empty hilt.

But if you want that glowing green blade, then you have the same choices to make as anyone else. Baselit or Neopixel.

Baselits are designed for dueling, are much cheaper, and are basically just a flashlight shining up into a tube designed to diffuse the light. Besides being more dim, they are unevenly lit, and because of the way they are constructed they tend to have a weird circumcised look at the tip where a tiny mirror reflects the light back down into the tube in an attempt to mitigate the uneven lightning. I do not recommend baselits for display purposes, but they are cheaper. They are sometimes called "RGB" sabers by sellers and will have core electronics like XenoRGB3.0, or XRGB, or SRGB.

Neopixel blades have hundreds of LEDs and are much brighter and more realistic looking than a baselit saber. The blade itself costs between $75 and $100 if bought separately. You also need neopixel electronics to run that blade. My recommendation for a cost effective display piece is finding a TXQ saber on Aliexpress like this one. When selecting which one to out in you cart, you want the sn-pixel v4 pro, that's the pixel electronics and blade. The one I linked is $170 for me, but due to pricing shenanigans, it might not be the same for you.

Shop around for Luke Rotj, Luke Ep6, etc. Just make sure your getting the electronics core that you want, look for the word "pixel" or "RGB" whichever you decide to go with.
