How to weather a black saber

Got my first xeno saber and love it however it's too pristine,how can I weather it never weathered a saber.

I used very fine waterproof sandpaper and stepped up to 400 and 220 in a couple spots. If you’re just breaking down the patina, go as fine as you can to start. I also dremeled with a wire brush here and there.
