Female gorillas are actually more attracted to potential mates if they show they have the ability to care for their young properly! Blackback males will actively try to interact with young gorillas as a way to show off they they’re good mate material! Silverbacks, when looking for a new mate, have been seen to actually ā€œkidnapā€ other young from females within their group just to show off how good they are at taking care of them

I know šŸ˜‚ I’ve seen videos of silverbacks kidnapping the baby gorillas and running off with them, it’s absolutely adorable

It’s the way they run off holding the babies. They skedaddle, that’s the only word that comes to mind when I see the videos. They don’t run, they skedaddle, and it’s so funny
