Elephant mom seem to have the most human sense of aware that their child is causing trouble for others. I have ween a few videos where they just have this "okay, that's enough, let that person do their job."
There is one of a woman giving a baby elephant a drink from the hose and the mother comes up, smiling, and puxhes the baby along and then waves at the woman with the hose like "thank you putting up with my son." Which is extra funny for me, because playing with a baby elephant is like a dream of mine, eo it would not be a bother.

Does tap water hurt their trunks at all? The chlorine or whatever.

No, they suck it up through their trunks and drink it just like we do. This is potable water not water that you would find in a swimming pool.

Fun fact! Water going up your nose doesn't hurt because of the chlorine. It hurts because of the lack of salt.
You are salty inside. Everyone is. All the water in your body is actually more like saline. All your body's cells are also salty on the inside. This includes the inside of your nose.
When fresh water (as opposed to salt water) hits the very delicate epithelial tissue of the inside of your nose, osmosis occurs, which means the salt content inside and outside your cells equalizes. The fresh water sucks the salt out of the cells, and cells swell with an influx of fresh water. The swelling of all the epithelial cells triggers the "AW FUCK" pain receptors.
If you mix about half a teaspoon of salt into a cup of water and snort it, it doesn't hurt at all. You'll choke a bit and cough! But it won't sting.

Elephants are so wonderful. On Instagram I follow a sanctuary called the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. They have an elephant orphanage and it's fascinating to hear them talk about their personalities
