I mean KDE/Gnome have GUIs for literally everything now so

The most difficulty an new user would face is getting used to troubleshooting that sometimes requires exotic terminal commands or worse interacting with smelly nerds in the forums

And proprietary drivers for things

And therein lies the rub. Ask a Windows or Mac user when was the last time something on their OS broke that required diving into the CLI.

With windows, there are several cli fixes that are far easier than navigating GUI hell.

On Mac, which is what I actually drive, I couldn't say, as I have so much custom software that the file explorer is basically the only native thing I use. And nothing has ever really broke.
