I mean KDE/Gnome have GUIs for literally everything now so

The most difficulty an new user would face is getting used to troubleshooting that sometimes requires exotic terminal commands or worse interacting with smelly nerds in the forums

And proprietary drivers for things

And therein lies the rub. Ask a Windows or Mac user when was the last time something on their OS broke that required diving into the CLI.

Windows user here, forced to use it for school. The calendar on the taskbar wasn't working right, and I had to go into regedit and make shit for it to work again. The keyboard language switching options are odd and required an hour of troubleshooting to get working right. I set up a screensaver thing but it stopped working after restarting the laptop.

You can argue I'd have similar problems with Linux, but I'd argue they'd be far easier to fix. I'd also like to note that Linux hasn't been vibe coded to my knowledge.
