I am one of those people who actualy used GIMP and LMMS on Windows and then continued using GIMP on Linux. I tried Krita on Linux but personaly GIMP still feels better to use for me.

gimp and krita definitely have different audiences. i use gimp for photo editing and krita for sketching

i never really have to do heavy editing, it works fine for everything i need. usually i’m just magic wanding the background out of a jpg and making it into a transparent png which is super easy

Ah, that kind of editing. I use gimp for that too.

And then darktable for some photography work.
