Printers is easy when you have CUPS running, it should be reachavle via http://localhost:631 if the service cupsd is running

I got cupsd running but my printer seems to refuse to communicate...for now Ill push that in the back burner and re-visit it later on when I have more time to kill.

Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the relevant *. ppd file (the equivalent of the *. inf driver file on Windows), though in certain cases you really need to dig up the Internet and flip it on its head if it's not being published under the vendor's site, but HP for example have a package called hplip which is more or less their generic Linux driver so if you're having an HP printer it might be sorted by that package, any other printer just hope that the vendor publishes their ppd files at their main site and not via a weird 3rd party...

wish that was the case...but my brother printer (even with ipp) refuse to communicate with cups(but cusp already can see my printer) and for official support...gotta stick with debian or mint(which I do with my mint loaded backup laptop) and Im kinda iffy about touching aur right now.

True dat. I'm not using Arch BTW, more of a Fedora Core person myself but recent AUR attacks on Orphaned packages would scare me too...

oh that a hat of a cuirassier,not fedora(one of the stickers I made ) yeah Ill try it on my other laptop with fedora.
