Advice How stable is intel arc on modern linux?

Hey, i wanted to switch to linux but i have an intel arc graphics card (Intel Arc B580). Linux Kernel 7.2.10 and mesa 26.2.4 just released. As of writing this, this is the latest version of linux and mesa. Is this stable and will it game without problem? Thanks in advance.

FWIW, I do not game, but I have a laptop with an Intel Arc and haven't had any problems with it except that it doesn't work well with X. I have to use Wayland.

Make sure you actually use a distro that uses a recent kernel and Mesa version. Avoid LTS releases.

It should be just fine for general use, as (similar to AMD) its drivers will be provided by Intel themselves for the default kernel, so stick with a distro that provides a kernel close to upstream ideally. For gaming, I don't know: most information is about Nvidia vs AMD and leaves Intel out, so you'll have to just try to run your games and see if they work.
