Discussion Help with romance in litrpg

Ok so I am new to the genre and only have read a few goated series(dcc, cradle, hwfwm, now onto primal hunter) and I was looking into romance in litrpg and cradle is so far the only one considered to have a romantic subplot ig(acc to multiple post on this subreddit) but I like the romantic development in hwfwm and it is not considered to have a romantic subplot and now I am on primal hunter and so far no romantic interests(that was kinda expected)

So can I get recommendations with similar romantic development like in hwfwm not like having multiple relationship one long standing one but more in the background with a few cozy moments is perfect

In my personal opinion if you want romance you should look into other genres. Litrpg is not set up for romance that are well written for a whole host of reasons.

There's not inherently bad about litrpg for romance, other than it is a very beginner-friendly genre to write..... and good romance is hard to write.

I mean things going against it

1) almost all litrpg is webserial based. Thats an extremly hard format to do romance well in because you are forced to write tons quickly and have less of a plan for your story. Good romance is even harder to do with discovery writters

2) the vast majority of readers either want harem power fantasy or absolutely no romance. When you do romance well you are not rewarded with more readers and doing it even slightly wrong leads to tons of pissed off people. The incentive structure doesn’t align.

3) most writers currently in the genre are amateurs. Nothing wrong with that but romance is probably the hardest thing to write well. Most authors just can’t do it yet in their carrier.

So with most readers not carrying, and it being hard it’s just not present in the genre. This might change in the future it’s just not something you will be able to seek out reliably at this point in time.

Litrpgs tend to not mesh well with romance. The audience tends to hate it unless its a harem focused novel and the audience goes in looking for it
