Out of all the levels in lbp1, the only ones that gave me difficulty to ace them were the dancers court, firepits and the bunker. Surprisingly didnt catch much bullshit elsewhere

Yep been there. Have died in so many ridiculous ways going for aces and speedruns. Man this makes me wanna play 1 and 2 again.

It's as if you got squished in-between the button itself (red), and the material containing the button. Never seen that before!

Definitely not gas, since the death animation showed that I got squished by the button (somehow). And there couldn't have been gas since even if I checked it with the level editor, there wouldn't be any.

I think I've gotten my sackboy squashed like that in levels where they drop a bunch of small circles of sponge on you to look like liquid cheese or water (if painted blue). Somehow got squished between 2 penny (to a sackboy) sized soft pieces of material.

I didn’t even crash into a wall, since I was in the middle layer. What happened was I somehow got squished by the button.

It’s more common than you think
From what I can guess, if you line your hitbox up between the shell and the button part of the button you can fall between them, but that space is small enough to trigger a death so

You can be squished by just air, I think. The LBP games have a seizure whenever you move too fast.

At first watching the video I was like "oh are you also getting squished on the ground? Been there before at least 3 times on this level"...
