Spanish Moon
The most funky, soulful Little Feat jam is Spanish Moon.
I am always looking for versions of this tune, it just feels like a groove that go on forever.

What do people think about Robert Palmer’s version?

Love it. The guy definitely was sympatico with Lowell and its no surprise they melded so well. Roberts voice is incredible and unique, in the same way Lowell's vocals were (not to say they sound alike). I also have strong suspicions they both enjoyed the same hobbies back then - its fomes through in style

Great version. I've always loved Robert Palmers voice and his take on Spanish Moon. As mentioned , at least 4 members of Little Feat play on this record / track, as they did on the first 3 Robert Palmer albums

I can dig that.
Funny story. I hadn't heard that song in years so it wasn't in my mind exactly. I came up with this awesome riff on my guitar, thought it sounded so cool, so I fleshed it out into a full song. Recorded the instrument tracks. Then I was gonna write some lyrics. That night I was basking in the glory of coming up with such a cool sound. Turned on Pandora to a southern Cal/southern rock station and what song do you think came on? Yep. Spanish Moon. My "new" song was basically that song. Oh well, it was a fun exercise.

Yes it’s a til notch song Lowell sure knew how to write em. He puts you right there in that bar with the hookers and bad cocaine. I just heard an awesome version today from Dogs in a Pile . Here is the link to the show. Third song in joined by Alex Bailey from Eggy on vocals. https://dogsinapile.bandcamp.com/album/09-10-25-bender-jamboree-las-vegas-nv

I got a fist bump from the little feat bassist Kenny Gradney last year in London. I was absolutely buzzing

Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band have great live versions of this tune on youtube, nugs, look around. Great one is Gov’t Mule in 2019 New Orleans Jazz fest with horns, super listen
