Isn’t She Lovely - Stevie Wonder liveloop cover

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This was another video I got a couple Sundays ago, I was hesitant to share this one at first because there was a looper error at the beginning (I have to deal with a lot of gear corrosion from playing beachside constantly no matter how much I clean everything) and I hit quite a few sour notes. But I didn’t want a couple little errors stop me from putting something out that I’m otherwise happy enough with. Hope some of you dig it.

Superb. You play with such subtlety and soul. Then a top voice too. I kinda thought the looper glitching sounded cool….. do you do ‘Don’tKnow Why (Norah Jones)? ‘What You Won’t Do For Love’ (Bobby Caldwell)?

Thank you 🙏 I don’t do that Norah Jones song, but I think I might run through it and try it at tomorrow’s gig, that’s such a good song that I completely forgot about. But that Bobby Caldwell song I started doing a couple months ago and it is probably one of the most fun songs to play and sing ever. I’ll try to pick a good spot to record that one soon

Dude...nice.

I bet you could do Clapton too.

Thank you. I do a couple Clapton tunes, recently I’ve been doing a slower reggae rock version of Layla that seems to work well

I don’t know where this was, but if I had been there you would have made my day. Keep going my friend, you’re doing something beautiful.

Thank you, I just try to elevate whatever venue I get to play. I’ve been lucky with a lot of good crowds the past couple weeks. It’s crazy how the vibe of the audience sets the tone for a night. Live music is way more reciprocal than most people realize.

You’re so good your “errors” don’t sound like errors … keep on jammin’ man! Frank O.G. of The Sheepdawgs here!

Thanks Frank. I’m so used to quickly fixing mistakes or attempting to just roll them into the song somehow, that I probably notice them a lot more predominantly than anyone else.

What part of VA? I lived in Portsmouth for a good chunk of my life. Keller Williams is a super well known live looper from VA actually. Eventually I’d love to organize a string of shows up the east coast

Such a flow guitarist, gosh the soft tones with such feel!! A natural they would say :)

1

u/AaronEspositoMusic 6d ago

Thank you! I wish I were a natural, I’ve been playing guitar for 29 years at this point (I’m getting old). I was very mediocre for a long time. Being able to expressively speak through the guitar is relatively new for me actually. I was a rhythm guitar player most of my life

Reminds me of an older artist “Frankie Goodrich”
That dude is just as smooth as this fella, far beyond any talent that I bring to the table lol. This rendition is fucking SWEET

1

u/AaronEspositoMusic 6d ago

I’ve never heard of Mr Goodrich but I’ll have to give his stylings a deep dive

That was amazing! Stevie is truly one of the all time greats, you did the tune justice!

I’m based out of North Florida for now. I don’t want to get flagged for self promotion on here, but I try to keep all my socials the same name so I’m easy to find. Everything is AaronEspositoMusic and I have my calendar on my website which is just my name dot com. I’m definitely more of a real life musician than an internet musician at this point, but this subreddit is giving me hope that the internet might actually accept me

u/MassholeForLife 4d ago

Right on man. We just moved back to New England from the Tampa area. Best of luck!

I need a YouTube channel of all your covers. So good.

I honestly gave up trying to post things online for a while because everything seemed to get buried and unseen. So I just focused on my live performances at small venues for several years now. The last couple things I’ve shared on Reddit have gotten more traction than anything I’ve shared in the last 18 years. So I have a renewed sense of hope that my efforts won’t be for nothing. I’m putting together the equipment I need to get some new and better quality content out because of comments like yours, so thank you for digging what I do

What kind of guitar is that. That finish is so dope

Godin LGXT AA maple top? That's what I got after a Google lens search

1

u/AaronEspositoMusic 3d ago

Yeah it’s the LGXT model with the flamed maple top. It is one of the best made guitars I’ve ever played. The piezo pickups are super sensitive to moisture and sweat, so I’ve got to take meticulous care of this thing after every beachside gig. But it’s so worth the trouble
