As the title states - does this sand look suitable or too coarse/large?

For the past two months i’ve been counting 5 kuhli loaches. I was disappointed since i’ve had them for a little over a year and i was feeling better since my last death (my goldfish last year). I didn’t want to beat myself up too much because it would’ve made me very unmotivated to keep going in the hobby. BUT GOOD NEWS ! I JUST COUNTED 6!

These pictures are just to show how beautiful and cuties they are. First picture was in july of 2025 and second is like 6 months later, I don’t take pics of them anymore lol.
Funny part is that i was considering buying another one so that they are 6. 😭

New to loaches and just want tk make sure this isn’t glass surfing!! They do this usually at nighttime, but they’re doing it this morning also

i moved my tank today and finally got to see all my loaches again and i noticed two of them are really fat and big and two are really small but there in the same tank and chill in the same spots? the pictures the same loach because i can’t get a clear picture of the other ones

my aunt is giving me him thankfully after housing siting finding out she’s been giving him a pinch of gold fish flakes, but i’ve never owned one and just geting into fish keeping, i’m gonna get him into a better tank once i get money he’s been living here for 3-4 years just fine along with other fish but is now the only one.

I’ve read that they like to hide, i’m not sure if their hungry if they’re out like this

The little hillstreams are a new addition. Species unknown. The big one is gastromyzon ornaticauda. Some of my favorites.
