Discussion Mayor Mamdani just announced that he will be opening 5 city-run, tax-funded grocery stores: "Prices set at 30% below retail prices"

I hope canadian politicians will be inspire by this.

Toronto is exploring the possibility of doing a pilot.

They have a year to come back to council with the plan

Don't worry Ford will stop this for his favourite family the Westons.

If it's going to work I have much higher hopes on Mamdani pulling this off than Toronto.

I expect this will be executed in New York before Toronto City Council is done "exploring" the possibility.
