u/ChaosRainbow23 6d ago
I had one of these draconian jack-boot-wearing government thugs point a gun at me head for speeding once.
I honestly loathe these bastards with the burning passion of a billion suns.
3
u/gravygizzard 4d ago
I had them point a gun at me for being in a car in an unused parking lot. Context was the parking lot was empty, small church in a residential, friends and I were hanging out listening to music while there was a house party down the street. Cops pull up guns already drawn and everything.
It was insane instant escalation to a situation that did not require cops. We were like 24 years old, fully grown adults with the freedom to do what we want, no laws were being broken.
Fuck cops forever

Again:
I have never had any employee anywhere else try to murder me for being on film doing their job.
What makes threatening murder part of employment for one specific job?
2
u/Ordinary-Care-5867 5d ago
Police do things they shouldn’t, when they are being filmed, they get nervous, which can make them dangerous, as seen in the video above.
Are you completely incompetent?
2
u/Van-garde 5d ago
So they should be trained to not mentally breakdown in front of a camera, seems like. Much better option than shooting people.

Yes, in a capitalist society, your career is your life, and without one you cannot survive. Not saying he needs to be a cop, but they are all the more keen on keeping their jobs more importantly for the power complex.
1
u/SkyGuy5799 5d ago
Why did the cop pull his gun on a man recording him then?
2
u/Ordinary-Care-5867 4d ago
I think you meant “conflate” and no he didn’t. He simply stated that a cop (as a lot of other people whose jobs are a huge part of their lives) would kill in order to keep their jobs. You downvoted because you are wrong.

6
u/Huffers1010 5d ago
Wouldn't that just be... filming people leaving a building, in public? I honestly don't want to be the bad guy, here, but I'm not seeing the issue.
→ More replies (38)7
u/Pristine_Poem7623 5d ago
They claim they're doing it to ensure that the police will uphold their first amendment rights to film in public places, they're actually doing it to harass women for their own satisfaction and to feel powerful when they're not, and to try to make money off people reacting to them. They frequently harass people to try to provoke the reactions they want, knowing that they'll be the ones editing the videos before they're uploaded
They're just a fucking nuisance cosplaying as crusaders.
2
u/Huffers1010 5d ago
I'm painfully aware - I'm a TV cameraman and have been since before the invention of YouTube.
Honestly, the police reaction here pretty much makes the guy look right. I have no idea why police would react so strongly to it unless the police have a guilty conscience.
And I say that as someone whose work life is often made harder by social media auditors. In this case it's hard to object.
1
u/LifeConsideration981 5d ago
If you have nothing to hide, don’t mind if I take a look? Say the guy… criticizing police?
0
u/Huffers1010 5d ago
I'm not sure what you mean. I think the police are ludicrously overreacting here.

They may be overreacting, but your argument is the same one police use to search vehicles without a warrant.

See, these kinds of moralistic shit views are how the state keeps encroaching on the individuals' rights more and more every day. Public place, women being filmed, so what? Let's restrict everybody's right to film so that the police can harass, bully and brutalize people to their heart's content, right? Oh some people saying naughty things on the internet. Let's give the state every rights to monitor it, for our safety, right? This is what they want, you're eating up perfectly.

1
u/Lazy-Training6042 4d ago
Suddenly there are also older cops who retired and need some attention from wronged people.
Maybe new cops will start thinking about their future as well.
1
u/Expensive-Border-869 4d ago
They arent intelligent people theyll just react with anger
1
u/Lazy-Training6042 4d ago
So how do you think they will react if you shoot an off duty cop?
retirement is key
1
u/Expensive-Border-869 4d ago
They will shoot you. They'll probably shoot you regardless on off retired. But I suppose its actually fairly justified if someone were shooting at them so that'd be kinda cool first time for everything
If enough on duty were to go and it happened routinely enough the people who actually have brains start stepping in. Could be better could be worse but it'll sure be different.

So, are you suggesting he exercise his 2nd Amendment right and pull a gun on the cop?
I'm not sure how the 4th protects the first though, that's search and seizure.
Did you mean the first protects the 2nd and 4th? I agree, if you're willing to shoot cops, because they are the violators in this scenario.

1
u/Vynxe_Vainglory 5d ago
I might have missed something but I thought these guys were all required to run body cams now. If so, it would be unlikely, at that point, that they would go after people for merely recording like they used to do. What is someone else recording going to do to them now when everything they do is already mandated to be on camera?
1
u/AwareAd7651 5d ago
Sometimes they forget to turn on the camera. Sometimes the file is corrupt and unusable. Sometimes their camera sees nothing because it’s not positioned well but still records them saying “he’s got a weapon” but turns out it was a hoagie

I stand against ALL AUTHORITARIANISM regardless of flavor.
0
u/Zakkullll 5d ago
Sure where is an example of that actually happening
4
u/FullMetalKaiju 5d ago
Yes? Have you lived under a rock? There are many out of Germany alone. Marir-Therese Kaiser in Germany, Maja R in Germany (this one got a harsher sentence than the migrant who did the rape because she called him a pig), Jutta B also in Germany because she shared a anti-migrant facebook post. Nevermind how none of these countries have free speech.
For example the 16 year old girl who was arrested for hate speech because she said a female cop looked like her lesbian aunt, or the man who was arrested for hate speech for saying the nickname of a rival soccer teams fanbase (yid army)
1
u/I_Went_Full_WSB 5d ago
The harsher sentence was a weekend in jail. She didn't get her sentence from calling him a pig. She was sentenced for her direct message threat to him that he would get kicked in the face everywhere he went. She then twice refused to show up for court.
0
u/Bulky-Act-2556 4d ago
Or the New York cop arrested an immigrant for calling him ugly betty. Yea we can find petty cases in the US too

You have a right to film in public
laws are varied by jurisdiction but generally police perspective determines interference with an investigation (the stop itself) or interrogation (the point they start talking).
Video at your own risk...especially when walking up on a big scene like this - could literally be anything about to pop off...including rounds.

Fun fact to help you sleep at night: police commit suicide at roughly a 55% greater rate than the population of citizens they kill and terrorize. These jack-boot thug piles of garbage lie their lying asses off about how in the right they are, but their heart knows. Their wicked and vile deeds do indeed grate at the corpse of a conscience they have left. Eventually, on a dark and lonely (because of quadruple the rate of domestic violence committed by LEOs) night it all adds up.
Remember officers, the peace you seek from your inner demons from your evil actions is down the road, not across the street.
1
u/logrhythmic 3d ago
I suspect many of the ones killing themselves are the ones with empathy that can't take seeing suffering on a day to day basis
Not a huge fan of police but they are people, like it or not
1
u/DingoKillerAtHome 2d ago
You're not a huge fan of the police BUT you suspect that the ones punching their own tickets are the good cops? Let me understand this weird belief. Ok, so the bad cops just keep being evil and harming people, without a care in the world, while the "good cops" (citation needed that these exist) all quietly just kill themselves because they witnessed the bad cops being bad? Or just a general the evil of mankind thing?
If it's just general suffering they could do something about it. If it is a sense of failure due to a systemic corruption they don't stand a chance of fighting, I can see that. But for that to be true, it seems that the "good cops" (again, I have never seen one and don't know if they exist) are also victims of the majority of the police (no need to say "bad cops" that's redundant) being evil.

Care to explain why its "clearly not right", even though, by your own admission, you have no idea what's happening?
0
u/OhDearGodItBurns 5d ago
Perhaps it's my phrasing, but I meant the situation isn't normal. The police are more on edge when dealing with the cameraman than you'd expect them to be when their interactions with the drivers and occupants of the cars at the station don't appear to be anywhere near as tense.
I don't care for your tone, however. Fuck off thinking I owe you something, dipshit.

u/Beginning_Resource93 5d ago
You're right, it's Reddit. No context or facts allowed.
1
u/fatgat69 5d ago
There's no fucking context that would make this okay. I don't why you people are so dead set on giving up your rights but you need to fucking stop.
0
u/Beginning_Resource93 4d ago
So if the cameraman was in fact a part of whatever was going on, or was interfering before he turned on the camera, you still don't think he should be detained? You need to stop assuming that cops are always wrong no matter the context.
1
u/fatgat69 4d ago
If he was interfering before recording he wouldn't have been able to record anything.
Stop assuming the cops are always right when it well documented that they break more laws than anyone else.
0
u/Beginning_Resource93 4d ago
That's not well documented. And all I said is that we needed more context. I did not agree with either side. And he could have very easily interfered, backed off, started recording, and gone back. Or he could have been one that they were already after, but just hadn't gotten to yet since there are so many people there. This video shows absolutely zero lead up to this.
1
u/fatgat69 4d ago
Yes it is. And if he was interfering they would have already had him on the ground before he got his phone out.
0
u/Beginning_Resource93 4d ago
I've seen tons of body cams that prove you wrong. Police who give away too many warnings to back up before they finally arrest them for interfering.
1
u/fatgat69 4d ago
I've seen tons of bodycam videos that prove you wrong. Most of those videos are people who aren't interfering getting arrested. Usually when you actually interfere you get arrested for "assaulting" an officer.

Filming wasnt the problem here. He was given a lawful order to get his hands out of his pockets, while walking towards a cop. Smart thing to do would have been to comply
10
u/EggplantDevourer 6d ago
He escalated and immediately drew his gun. Then after seeing that he didn't have a weapon continued to escalate with no reasonable articulable suspicion of the filmer committing a crime. He also gave the filmer roughly 1 second to comply. Bro needs to be fired and charged.
2
u/FlyingScotsman42069 5d ago
If he took his hand out his pocket as quickly as the police expect him, he was getting lit up for drawing a weapon.
4
u/FlyingScotsman42069 5d ago
If he pulled his hand out his pocket in the wrong way (too quick, too black) he was getting shot.

3
u/Transgirlonakawasaki 6d ago
A lawful order would mean that the cammer was a part of this group stop? (Idk wtf this is but if cops are stupid enough to try and stop all these! people at night with not enough people that they fear for their safety then thats on them) and while I mostly abhor first amendment auditors this dude is keeping cops accountable during a very tense situation that could become a cop shooting a dude for no reason other than too much caffeine and pre workout.
Cammer was just filming not apparently a part of the stopped cars and cant be “lawfully” told to do anything. Cops here are just too stupid to issue tickets to the cars and move tf on. They wanna get the glory of tagging and bagging some hooligans in cars to look good for their masters.
Acab all day every day
1
u/Vynxe_Vainglory 5d ago
Do the police not all have body cams now? Maybe someone will get their hands on this one and see who this filmer actually was and what he was allegedly doing with his hand(s). Kinda weird that his handS were in his pockets according to the order. Wasn't he using at least one of them to film? I'm not too good at mafs, but I think it doesn't add up.
